Teaser photo Challenge Stradale shift paddles in a 355 F1 They said it couldnt be done, took me about ten minutes each. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The down paddle is a half inch longer too, main thing is appearance, no chips and I think they just look better. Plus, I was getting bored I put the European clear front turn signal in with amber bulbs too.
Its not a simple bolt on What I did was bolt two paddles together with #8 countersink flat head bolts and nuts with the 355 paddle on top of the CS paddle then carefully cut off the excess. My sander has an idler wheel that is about the same radius as the shift paddles so I simply sanded the radius, and bevel. The notch and screw holes are exactly the same as the 355 paddles. Piece of cake
I think it looks great. Found a set of CS paddles on ebay the other day but didnt know if they would fit. Can you post a few more picture on how you did it?
can you try to snap a picture of what the other side of the paddles look like mounted? If I read your post correctly, you said you bolted the CS paddle to the 355 paddle?
No, what I did was to bolt the two paddles together to get a cut line on the CS paddles. It was easier to trim the CS paddles back to the size of the 355 paddles when they were overlayed so the top one(355) acts as a guide. Once trimmed/sanded, they were separated and the CS paddles bolt on the same way the 355 paddles were. Sorry, I didn't bother to take pictures, but here is a very rough sketch of what material needs to be removed. the holes and recess on both paddles are exactly the same. Looks really good, and from what it seems not that complicated to do! I ordered a set of paddles from eurospares and will try it out next week, thanks for the tip
They look fantastic mate I always love a myth breaker and a do'er. Your clearly a man that does, instead of talking fictitious theorys. Good job and thanks for the heads up on the conversion
Sweet They look great to bad Ferrari did not do that from the factory any way I still do know why Ferrari just don't make them a like the f430 challenge long so you can shift up or down when the wheel is some what turned.
WOW---Typical Ferrari parts, I figured they would be $$$$---Daniel has them quite cheap!!! I think the stock 355 ones are more than that..
