Im sitting in Logan, waiting for my delayed flight. Has anyone seen that there is designated "Hybrid Only" parking in the central lot at logan, right next to the elevators? Its got green lines, and big green signs that declare this parking area for Hybrids and Alternative fuel cars only, all others will be towed. WTF?

Yes, Prius drivers are special, and according to the State, deserve special parking at Logan. Notice that most of these spaces are EMPTY, but some purple-haired Eco-terrorist called their Socialist representative on Beacon Hill and demanded a parking set-aside. You are now officially being discriminated-against based upon the car you drive.

Yup, that will make me feel better this weekend when I take my boat out and burn 150 gallons of gas in a few hours. What the hell, I think I'll take out my chainsaw and cut a couple perfectly good trees down for no reason too.

Ezra Dyer (NY Times, Automobile and Esquire columnist who lives in Boston) had a NYT blog bit a while back. The Boston Common garage, I think it was, had a special discount for all hybrid vehicles. So he took a hybrid TAHOE and parked it there. When he pulled up to pay, he got into a discussion with the cashier as to whether it qualified or not. Ended up having to get the manager to approve it.

If I flew out of Logan a lot, and drove a non-hybrid Accord, Civic, Camry, Altima or GM SUV, I'd just sent a few bucks for the HYBRID badges and stick them on the car, just to take advantage of the parking (especially when central parking is filled up!)

    vty,

I wonder if that would work on a Stradale. It is half road-car and half track-car!

To be honest, I like the idea for 2 reasons.

    1) It makes it easy for me to look inconspicuous walking in circles with my keys slung low in my hand.
    2) When they are all together like that, it seems more like bowling pins, one well placed hummer can rack up a strike pretty easy
