Atlanta Spotters Thread

Last Thursday was huge for spotting cars, this week not as many but still nice to have a chance to view them. A Lotus Exige S (F1) - I found it to be a special edition model dedicated to their Formula One success. Located on the fuel cap is a plaque that shows the years that a title was won. I do have a photo that shows this tribute. The second car was a Ferrari F430 spider -red with black leather. I would have to say that all of the spiders I have shot has had a light or tan leather interior. Third car was a Ferrari F430 spider in dark red ,again a nice change of pace to view another color combination.

Black X6 in front of the blockbuster on Peachtree at 1:40. Looks sweet in black. I'll be out for a week wakeboarding and surfing, talk to yall later.

Hey! That's my Lotus Exige S265! The wife and I were out for dinner at The Palm to celebrate my birthday. Nice photo. A local Elise owner who has a graphics business sells those F1 title stickers.

Not a whole lot today, just a white Gran Turismo and a Phantom. I saw another Phantom parked at Maggiano's on Peachtree but I figured it was the same one and I didn't feel like stopping.

First car was a red Ferrari 360 Modena spider with black leather and Montana tags. Second was a red Ferrari 360 Modena spider with tan leather on Peachtree. Third was a vintage Porsche coupe in white. Fourth was a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo coupe. Fifth was a red Ferrari Testarossa. Sixth was a blue Ferrari 456. Maserati North America would be proud of the Atlanta market every day at least 4 cars can be observed driving around. Today was a silver Gransport coupe, one black GranTurismo,and two Quattroportes.

See, I told you that the W Midtown is a hot spot!!

I forgot to mention that two days ago I saw a 512 BBi for a split second and a 360 spider on Roswell Rd.

 

What's up guys?

I spent the week in Charleston for vacation and just got back today...only one great spot, and that was a silver SLR coming over to Isle of Palms towards me. I snapped a few pics of it, I'll get them posted ASAP. I also saw a 348 Targa, an recent model Esprit for sale on a used car parking lot which was a bit weird, a DB9, and a Cobra kit car.

I'm on my way out the door to see the MC12!

 

That Gallardo is ours. Had a good meet up with some friends at the W. Nice hotel, my first time there.

 

I saw a neat red 599 on the street last Wednesday, but since it was in Fort Lauderdale (!) I posted it on the Florida forum's counterpart to this thread!

 

Not much today, the rain didn't help out much. Just a Maserati something and a CL600 with some sick wheels.

We had a pretty good group, although they spread our cars around the circle.

 

I was out riding the motorbike with my friend and his Ducati club around Blood Mountain up in North Georgia today. One of the guys showed up on a 1098R (a $39,995 bike)...he was a real good guy and led the way most of the trip. Lots of rare bikes out today.

Since I was riding, I didn't have my camera ready, but trust me there are some insane cars up in those hills!

I saw in no particular order:
2 F430's (both Berlinetta...one red, one silver)
A silver T-Rex that was HAULING butt down the mountain
A 996 GT3
At least 3 C6 Z06 Vettes
and my personal favorite, an MTI Z07 (which is a highly tuned C5 Z06).

 

Hi Mark, today for the first time I found you and your 4 friends on the road and the sound was out of this world !! A Ferrari 360 Stradale, Ferrari F430 coupe, Ferrari 360 Modena spider, your Ferrari 456 GTA, and a Ferrari Testarossa all driving aggressively down Lenox Rd. I thought today would be the day for me to introduce myself- as many times that I have taken photos of your group I have never placed a face to the cars. But sad to say I lost sight of the cars when I had to perform a u-turn. One day I will get the chance to meet you and your friends.

Today also brought out some great cars besides the 5 mentioned above. First was a black Ferrari F430 coupe spotted on West Paces Ferry. Second was a dark red Ferrari F430 spider also on West Paces Ferry.Third was a vintage Jaguar XK 150 roadster. Fourth was a Delorean parked at the Clubhose restaurant at Lenox. Fifth was a Lamborghini LP640 roadster in dark red on the road, the soundtrack that car has is perfect and combined with the looks is a match made in Heaven. Sixth was the red Maserati GranTurismo I shot awhile back but this time it was daylight out. (11) total hot cars - a nice Sunday indeed. Thanks Mark for the soundtrack. The Ferrari's sound best in attack mode!!! West

Alfa Romeo GTV(I think) flying up 400...left me and i was doing 80
The Powder Blue Porsche 993 Turbo S that used to belong to Seinfeld that was just on Ebay from an owner here in GA. I saw the yellow calipers and yellow seatbelts, so I'm pretty sure it is that car. Saw this car on Mansell in Alpharetta.

 

Yesterday- silver Shelby GT500, and silver Audi S5
Today- white Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT, white Porsche Cayenne GTS

 

Today I visited Stone Mountain but the big attraction came on a back road where I observed a silver Mercedes-Benz roadster. I knew the car was very old. The tag read ''190 SL''. After checking the internet I found how rare this car is in Mercedes history. A gull wing body without the roof and doors. I am only 20 years old and I am just learning about older models including Ferrari's. I am thrilled this cars owner had personalized tags for me to know what it was. The owner pulled out in front of me and the first thing I thought was that this car is beautiful -talk about being at the right place at the right time. Also in the area was a blue Lotus Exige and silver R/T10 Viper.

 

Today a saw another Shelby GT500, (white on blue) a red on black Lotus Exige, S63 AMG, BMW 840, Porsche 997 turbo, red Ferrari F430 in sandy springs, the new BMW M3 e92 yellow on black Camaro ss, I have pitcures of some of the other cars that I will upload later.

 

Where and what color was the E92? I ask because I have one of those also (Silverstone).

 

S5 was from a few days ago, I completely forgot that I had seen it and didn't upload it.

Today was the day for 63's, a CL63 and SL63.

There are few exotics in the Conyers area. I've heard for a few years that this car was around and yesterday is the first time I saw it, very clean looking car.

Not a spot but something that I heard lately is that the 997 facelifts are being sent to the dealers this week so be on the look out for those!
