I guess downscaling for me would be a cardboard box....

What did people think of Aaron Spelling? Seemed his wife left him for someone else and they bought the apartment six months before he died. Also Tori didnt visit her father more than once in hid dying state, the mind ponders

 

What the hell do you do with a bedroom of that size?

I like how her current house has a doll museum and a gift wrapping room.

 

Downside: Hans Gruber can draw a bead on you in that 4000 sq ft bedroom!

Take away the pricetags, and 'yes', its downsizing. She won't be paying CA Property Taxes on 11 acres of prime BH real estate. She won't be managing and caring-for 11 acres of landscape - no gardner, landscape architects, mowers, planters, pool cleaners, etc. (or the monthly expenses that go with all that crap). Also, I'll wager her overall utilities useage and carbon footprint will plummet when moving from a mansion of 56,000 sqft to 16,000 sqft of condo. I wonder what the HVAC bill for 120+ rooms are.....this follows the thought patterns of MANY 'joe-average' Americans who are looking at their energy, maintenance, and property tax bills and asking themselves if they bought way-too-much house. Judging the forclosure markets, and home prices, the answer is blatantly obvious.

 

I'm sorry, some people should be forced to live in a modest place. I really would like to see her live in a typical 13x17 bedroom. Now that would make a great reality show.

A 4,000 sq foot bedroom? Really? I hear Hell is hot this time of year.

 

Actually she still will have a pool boy. From another article I read her condo will take up two floors and will have a pool. I do know she's on two of the top floors but I don't think she's got the top one. So that means the pool will have to be indoors.

Cut the poor lady a break. It's a 4,000 sf master bedroom suite- which means, for you great unwashed, that it probably has some seriously deep walk-in closets, a dressing room, separate bath, shower, bidet and toilet areas, along with some 'courtesy' sinks, a sitting room or two, and an office space so milady can write her daily correspondence while not having to leave the privacy of the bedroom area. So, that means that the area of the bedroom proper, is more likely to be a mere 2000 sf. She is really just making do....

 

My company worked with his on a couple projects... not my fav person.

 

I believe it was because of the wife that Tori was kept away from her father.

 

regardless, 2,000 sf is still bigger than my house, it makes people wonder "what recession?"

I never understood it (but it is Hollywood). I mean, it is her daughter too (not a step-daughter or anything like that).

 

I think there was something going on behind closed doors with the Spellings that nobody really knows about. It's understandable how pretty much everything went to the wife, but to give the wife $500 million empire, and give your kids $100K does not seem right. I think that was not done out of kindness. That was done to say "F-YOU" on his way out.

 

I could see all the assets going to the wife (unless it's a second marriage and you have kids from another marriage, ect), with the assets being passed down to kids once she passes away. However, both of the Spelling kids got rammed.

From what I have read on the internets (of course everything on the net is true) is that mom was given the power to decide what the kids get. Unfortunatly mom has a better relationship with the $1,000 slot machines at the Bellagio than she does with her kids. So the kids got squat, and the slot machines will slowly be fed the rest $1,000 at a time.
