Without question, though, everything in this thread belongs in porn, or that pillar of design, Architectural Digest.
Granted this thing ever gets finished, it is one of my favorite ridiculously huge homes (67,672 sq ft): http://www.frank-mckinney.com/estate_for_sale_manalapan_residence.aspx A couple years ago he had avail to the public the drawings of each floor and the garage...I'll see if I can't find them somewhere on my old computer.
I'm glad to see you took the time to read about him also. It seems Frank has worked extremely hard to be where he is. I don't know him personally but I respect him for how much extra he does for the poor people in Haiti - pretty cool for a guy who builds spec homes for up to $135 million in the US and also builds communities (schools, clinics, community centers, homes, etc) for people who can't afford to in poverty stricken countries.
He's the epitime of working from nothing and becoming someone. Obviously someone who remembers exactly where he came from. I'm willing to bet even when he had nothing, he would give what little he did to someone who had it even less. He never looked at himself as a victim.
in Cumming GA offered for sale at $45 mil http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&FORM=LMLTCP&cp=34.156303~-84.118554&style=h&lvl=18&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=9294050&phx=0&phy=0&phscl=1&cid=9993C74E20A6A10B!114&encType=1 house in Alpharetta GA, has his own small golf course: http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&FORM=LMLTCP&cp=34.007877~-84.20917&style=h&lvl=19&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=29024556&phx=0&phy=0&phscl=1&cid=9993C74E20A6A10B!114&encType=1 this house is in Cleveland TN, the owner is usually at the Barrett Jackson Auctions wearing a University of TN hat. Be sure to scroll around the property (he owns 400+acres). He has a separate garage area for his car collection, a football field complete with fieldhouse and lights, horse stables, and a private pond/lake. There are also a couple other homes on the property and paved roads throughout. He has like 5 different entrances to the property, from different subdivisions. The one subdivision (Anatole) where the guard shack is has a couple other massive homes as well. http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&FORM=LMLTCP&cp=35.235011~-84.831531&style=h&lvl=19&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=12838036&phx=0&phy=0&phscl=1&cid=9993C74E20A6A10B!114&encType=1 I found a couple pix of old pix of the last house: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I live very close to that house, the view of the back of the house better shows its scale. A couple Ferrari owners live in that neighborhood, as you probably know. You should post a pic of the house across the street!
That thing is enormous! Any idea the square footage? Here are a couple more: 1. Zephyr Cove, NV: 38000 sq.ft. $100,000,000, $149,067 - property tax! http://www.luxuryrealestate.com/650685 2. Cumming, GA: $45,000,000 (Same as above - only with pictures) http://www.luxuryrealestate.com/831514 Hopefully these links stay a while - couldn't find them on Live Maps or Google Earth - perhaps somebody a little more experienced can.
This one is Dean Gardens I am fairly certain this house is still for sale, and they are probably going to divide the property up into separate lots and sell the main house separately. You can visit the website for it and see some inside views of the house (in my opinion, its incredibly incredibly aweful). http://www.deangardens.com/home.htm The main house is 32k s.f., a carriage house that's another 10k s.f. and a 12 car garage. The asking price was, last time I heard, was only $24M including all furnishings even though it was appraised over $30M. The houses owner, Larry Dean, owns a software company that is located only a mile or so away from the house.
I think the title ("Huge mansions in US...post (sic)picturs or web links") of this thread pretty much sums it all up.
Good god, who designed the interior? I practically lost my lunch, dinner & breakfast. Yuck!!! Mansion? More like a resort!
That's one of the most amazing homes I have ever seen - and my nose is stuck in The Robb Report! Absolutely fantasy!!! _J
Cumming, Georgia: http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&FORM=LMLTCP&cp=ppshqc7zq0jj&style=b&lvl=1&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=2075934&phx=0&phy=0&phscl=1&encType=1 Zephyr Cove, Nevada: Unfortunately, no birds eye view, although here's the a site dedicated to the home: http://www.tranquilitylaketahoe.com/
Just found this one for sale...on famous West Paces Ferry on the way to Buckhead (basically Atlanta's Rodeo Drive) Surprising affordable at only $7M! I can't find the approximate square footage anywhere, so I'm thinking maybe there's some secret space they don't want to advertise. Or it's just so big they can't figure it out. Actually, I sort of like the back view of the house. http://www.annragsdale.com/WPaces.html Here's another site with some more pictures. http://www.atlantafinehomes.com/property.php?fmlsid=3691183 Image Unavailable, Please Login
