Still thinking of one for mine. However, I know she is a she. Because "she" lets me know just who is in charge.

For example, I am at the FCA (Toronto) event and the engine bonnet won't stay up all morning. Gee, there is something new. So I try and try. Nope, won't stay up so I think, there goes my chance at a Coppa. Now when the judges come up, they say close everything up, so I do. Thinking that is going to kill any chance of the bonnet staying up. Then they tell me to open every thing up. So I do, and guess what, the engine bonnet stays up all while they are looking at it. So in the end, I,....... er, we receive a Coppa. New struts are in the future plan.

So now I know just who is in charge and I am just along for the ride. :D

I used to own a 246 dino gt. My girlfriend at the time named it "Fellini". To me, I always called it "the dino" but I let her have her fun.

    What's your car's name?

I used to have a Sentra named Josephine, a '78 Malibu named Christine and a few others.

    That's an awesome story!

    What does "Fellini" mean?

How about Rene or Miss P...? I like the look of the RX8, although I don't think its aesthetic design is any sort of an evolution of the RX7. However, it seems like a cool car; I bet it's a lot of fun.

My '86 328 was Sofia since the day she arrived. Silly, I know. But my whole family
now refers to her that way.

I don't know what's worse naming your car(they already have names) or referring to it as a she. Probably as bad as guys who name their dick, what the hell is the deal with that?? Altho I have known women who refer to their fun bags as the "girls"... I guess that's ok. Man I spent to much time in the sun today sorry I blew up, oh well opinions are like....

My Ducati's name is Valentina. See photo on my user profile.

I travel (pilgrimage )to Bologna and Marenello every spring. Last visit, I stopped in a small tavern in the area with that name carved in wood above the door. It just stuck.

Will have to see what else sticks at my next visit for the new F-car.

My 365GT 2+2 is Old Blue, the Lusso was Beautiful. I have a MB E65 by the name of Hot Rod, prevous others have been Porschy, a Porsche Turbo was the Silver Bullet, A Chevrolet Malibu SS was Big Red, my ? 1975 VW Scirocco was Rocco, an old Ford ex Treasury Dept car that always ran and could tow a race car was the Beige Barge. To show that I was always a little nutty I Had the first VW Phaeton deliverded in the USA and could not get the liscense plate HiHoSilver or anything close to it, so I got "WWT MM". See if you can figure that one out, ( hint think in terms of the Lone Ranger) No one did in 3 1/2 years !

As long as you don't drive a mini nicknames are ok.

But "shorty" or "small stuff" are just not the monikers you want for your car, or your...well, you get the point.

Only had one car that got a name hung on it.

Black 1977 911S, Rolf courtesy of a good friend at the time.

Here's a shot of Rolf sitting in my driveway in about 1980, my Scirocco is sitting in the background left.

The reason cars usually have female names, because in all romance languages, the words for automobile is a femine, not masculine. Itlalian is l'automobile and la macchina
