The top picture in post #41 has a tail and taillight treatment that strongly resembles the late forties torpedo body Pontiac, and I believe also the Bently Continental.

    Very nice though.

All of the car designers were looking at each other's work and still do. More than just occasionally designs or parts of designs are borrowed in part or in full.

Ferraris have been copied over and over.

It were the coachbuilders/designers who were 'copied' many times, not Ferrari. Ferrari did not design the body, they only provided the chassis.
The coachbuilders also copied themselves many times by applying similar designs to several different branded chassis.

4/21/52 Turin motor show car. This was the last of 10 Ferrari cars done by Stablimenti Farina. The first owner was Luciano Mosti of Milan in April1952[not 1950} The car was delivered to Mosti by a Milan dealer [WI.PU.SRL ??]. The original engine is # 0107. According to Marcel Massini F.C. 5/17/06 and El Wayne F.C. 07/02/04 this engine is in #024 "the Uovo". The Barchetta page also states this engine was in #024 in the Mille Miglia of 1993 [???]. The photo of the the chassis # 0107/ES is of great interest and we would very much like to see more of this car. Please post pictures. Thanks tongascrew

Well, yes......if you want to get TECHnical. The Ferraris with coachwork by ____________have been copied by many other car manufacturers.

I don't count it when the coach builders use a similar design on more than one car. The 59 rambler american for example was designed by pininfarina and has similar lines with different proportions to some of the Ferrari Inters. Now when you look at the Chevy Vega and see the resemblence to the GTE I count that as copying a Ferrari design, ditto most Camaros and most Corvettes. ( The sting ray beginning in '63 is an exception).

And by the way, I don't mind the cross polination at all, I just enjoy noticing it and pointing it out.

That's a shame. Here it is in the backyard of Don Nelson back in the eighties.

    ?????

Shouldn't all promotional images of all the other Ferrari models (550, 575, 599, California, 612, Enzo, etc.) be removed as well then?

Thank you for your kinds words!

Like you GTO very much... Problem is our products go thru approval at Ferrari and I don't think they'd get this one pass (they are very protective of their image and righly so...

    Cheers.
