FYI on I-684 driving. Mach speed reported on I-684 in Putnam SOUTHEAST - Travel the legal 65 mph speed limit on I-684! You feel as though you are standing still with vehicles speeding by. In an attempt to reduce the carnage on one of the areas busiest highways, State Police from Brewster and Somers conducted an aggressive driving detail on the interstate Saturday with astonishing results. During a four hour period, 28 traffic summons were issued for various violations. Sgt. Joseph Malorgio, Station Commander of the Brewster State Police, said four of the arrests were for vehicles going over 100 mph. Michael Krewson of Carmel was clocked at 104 mph; Leroy Misir of Yonkers was recorded speeding at 106 mph while two Connecticut motorists—Jeffrey Veloso of Brookfield and Valerio Ramos of Danbury were both arrested for traveling at 110 mph on their motorcycles. Malorgio said state law allows a judge to revoke an individuals license or driving privilege if he or she is convicted of speeding more than 40 mph above the legal posted limit. Each of those arrested was released without bail pending future court hearings in Southeast. Malorgio said the State Police would be continuing to keep our highways safe for the traveling public by maintaining enforcement details at all hours of the day and night throughout the summer driving season.
Any road that asks you to speed...is usually not a good place to speed. Instead, speed in places where you shouldn't speed, like downtown Manhattan
Problem w.that is if you do get popped there's no pleading since the DMV controls the traffic "courts". I engage in various minor traffic infractions in the city, but one thing I do NOT do there is speed since the ticket is what the ticket is.
I don't think there are any traffic laws in Manhattan I was able to plead not guilty for a cell phone violation in Manhattan. I changed the plea online the morning of the court date, but I was able to plea not guilty.
I meant pleading to a lesser charge/speed w.a prosecutor as you (or your attny) could do in a normal court. BTW in Manhattan 'court' for cel vios you can argue there was an emergency that dictated the use of handheld while driving. I have seen it work
i was on 684 saturday afternoon right after coming back from limerock, and didn't see a single cop...that was like 1:30 or so
They tend to hide in the same spots so if you're a veteran you know where they are. In the morning commute the average median speed has to be about 80 mph...
