My garage stays fairly cool in the summer and fairly warm in the winter due to good insulation. Obviously when I open the garage doors things change quick and take a long time to settle. What have you guys done to HVAC your garage? I was looking at a window type AC unit that has a heat pump. I'm not looking to have the garage at 60* in the summer and 90* in the winter. Just looking for something to keep things reasonable, whatever that means.:) FYI, my garage is about 800sq/ft. with 10 and 12 foot ceilings. Thanks for any input and I apologize if this is in the wrong section!

For heat I put a 75KBTU propane fired unit heater in. Cost me about $800 for everything. If you search my posts I put some details of where I bought it and how much I paid etc. My garage is 1100sq ft with 9ft ceilings. I leave the heat at 45 when I'm not out there working.

For heat I put a 220V electric unit from Dayton that i think was under $300 that does a great job. For cooling, I did put ceiling fans in, but no AC.

Funny...I keep mine at 45 too. I have no idea why I chose that temp but you did as well...why?

Also, amazing what $30 in garage door insulation strips do to keep the place warm. My Reznor gas unit was cranking about 3x as often prior to my installing them..amazing.

I have a "Hot Dawg" propane heater run off a 40lb propane tank. I keep the garage at 50 (lowest setting on the thermostat) and the tank lasts about two weeks in the dead of winter. Cost me about $700 for the unit. I crank it up to 70 when I am out working on the cars. The best investment I made in the garage to date (other than the F-Car obviously).
