    None taken ;-)

We are just extremely happy and humbled to be part of the F community. We're trying our best to create products that will be of use for owners and fans alike...

On a personal note, I am completely hooked to Fchat (thanks Rob!), especially the vintage forum: I have learned so many things in the last few weeks (I may have even made some post that were ill-timed or lacking information but I could not help myself!).

I hope we'll be able to have more than one mural of the P4, which is, in my eyes, the most beautiful Ferrari ever created (and this without even a so-called designer!!!). my dream is to find a period picture of any of the P series racing at Daytona (or Le Mans) and be able to produce a mural out of it...

oui, le spoiler av était plus important à la Targa Florio, qu'à Daytona, le tracé s'y prétait plus.

I mean, the spoiler is the same size in the vintage pictures (Daytona and Targa Florio) and is much bigger and has a different shape than in Jim's current 0846...

I don't think that the spoiler was bigger in the Targa Florio than in Daytona...

Also note the different angle of that spoiler (more downwards) compared to the body of the car in the vintage pics...

il me semble qu'à Daytona, il est légerement plus petit, et moins arrondi.
de plus il semble recourbé vers le bas.
es-ce durant la course que la charge l'a recourber?

    scuse my very bad Inglish
It seems to me that to Daytona, he(it) is légerement smaller, and less round.
Furthermore he(it) seems hooked(curved) downward. Be it during the running(race) that the load(responsibility) bent back him(it)?

Pas de problème pour votre anglais: it's fine!

Anyway, It was just my 2 cents for historical accuracy as Jim wants to put 0854 to Daytona specs... It's up to him to decide in the end ;-)... As for me I'd love to see 0856 restored like just after the end of the race with paint scrapped from the font of the car, bugs, oil and other debris all over it (etc...) it would not look as clean, but would have a nice patina... I wish we could make stickers that mimic that, but i think it's not technically possible...

Hmmm come to think of it, it's not a bad idea: give your F car instant race patina (choose your race) with Ferrari-Blue Mountain Stickers... :)!!!! (it would not go thru Ferrari's approval process though...)

    Au plaisir!

Bonne journée (plutôt soirée pour vous!)

Jim is working on reproducing that patina ... simply by using it. Thus nothing fake about the patina he adds.

I will never understand why somebody would want to fake patina ... just use the friggin car and it is made naturally. All this patina bollocks is caused by people viewing cars that are never used again after restorations, and understandably get upset. Instead we should be moaning about the lack of use ... not the patina.

Jim does not fall into that catagory :).

    tout à fait d'accord avec vous ferrariP4.
j'aime les voitures comme elles se trouvaient à l'époque.

au contraire. mille merci à lui de nous la présentée

    Hi Pete,

It was just a joke for the fake patina ;-)...

My point was I like cars with history patina better than ones that are overrestored...

I am sure that, whenever he can, Jim will keep the original parts and paint on his cars other than refabricating them...

    Cheers.

I wore that Polo with Dino at Villa d'Este. When 0846's ready I'll snap a photo with Polo.

I allways thought the 330 P4 had a more square front air intake and the more oval ones belonged to the 330 P3/4 and 412 P cars....
Nowadays we know that accuracy is more important to us than to repairmen back then.
