    Hey everyone,

Over the last couple months it's been really nice to meet a lot of you at the local street legal drags and various meets. Now that our fledgling website has a good user base, we figured it was time to have our own event. We are planning on driving up the Angeles Crest highway on August 2nd. A link to the thread on our site can be found here. It has all the details on where we are meeting, where we are going, where we are eating, and what time everything is going down. Also my friend was kind enough to already make the drive and put together a video so that everyone can see what the drive is going to be like. Please let us know if you plan on coming because the place we're eating is kind of small and we want to make sure to let them know in case 30 people are coming. You can let me know if you're coming by either registering for the event on our site here, or by shooting me an email at [email protected]. It should be a blast, I hope to see you you all out there.

    Thanks.

    Sean

Shouldn't be posting the exact location and times. Lots of law enforcement agents browse through these sites. Best way to organize is by email and PM's. Just my 2 cents. <-- Don't listen to that if you have Police escort BTW :p

LOL, thanks for the advice. I don't think we're going to be doing anything too crazy though - just a nice drive through the canyon :)

If you can make it out, that would be awesome, I love E30's. What model specifically do you have?

Whatch out for Johnny law. I got cited earlier today for no front plate at Upper Big Tujunga and Angeles Crest. I was lucky he had 2 bikes pulled over and he didn't get a chance to get my speed. According to him, there have been several accidents there lately.

Thanks for the advice, but we're not going to be racing around. The front plate thing worries me a little bit though - I'm not sure any of us have a front plate :)

Here are all the details for anyone that can make it, including a meet up point for those of you up near the actual Angeles Crest area. See you Saturday

    Angeles Crest Forest Cruise

    Video.

    MEET UP LOCATION - FULLERTON
Meet up at the North East corner of Orangethorpe and Brookhurst in Fullerton around 9:00 am for brief hang. Leave at 10:30 to pick up the 5 and head for an Angeles Crest Forest Run above LA. There's a McDonald's and Starbucks within walking distance of the meet up location.

    MEET UP LOCATION - LA
For you guys meeting us near the base, I think the best location is the Shell Gass Station at:

    4530 N ANGELES CREST HIGHWAY (SR 2)
    LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, CA 91011-3201
    818-790-3836

We will come off the 210 and do a U-Turn in front of the Station at approximately 11:10-15 am and you can just pick up the tail as we whip around.

    BASIC ROUTE FROM FULLERTON
I've selected a Biker Friendly route that bypasses many of the interchanges on the 5.

91 West from Brookhurst, stay in right lane as it immediately becomes the 5 North
    5 North to 605 North 10 Miles
    605 North to 210 West 16 Miles
    210 North to Hwy 2 16.5 Miles

Once on Hwy. 2, it's about 27.5 miles to Newcomb's Cafe, the only place to eat up there. It's also where all the bikes and cars hang. Lots of exotic bikes on Saturdays usually.

It's about another 13.2 Miles to where Hwy 2 is Closed.

Also, you can participate in the discussion of the details in this thread.

325e (for the torque), dropped, Dinan'd, fan and a/c delete. I am building a SpecE30 soon for kicks because they are cheap to hone skills off the track living next to Angeles Crest.
A group 5 E9 "batmobile" is a bit large for canyon runs... On the last 10 runs I have been on with the E30, 4 much better cars have wrecked including a 996. It is the only thing I have on this coast to run that is balanced. I know am the oddman out, but I have not found anything worth buying to be 100% honest. It would be one thing if I were some guy in my20's but at 35, and as a "car guy" I enjoy the drive, the friends and not thrashing about with carelss folks.

I am thinking of a Bugeye next or maybe pull the 2500m from Long Island and bring it back to spec or something purpose-built for La Carrera and Porto Santo next year. Jjay911 and I re thinking of a crazy X1/9

We actually have lots of cars going. Corvettes, Cobras, Grand Nationals, F-Bodies, BMW's, 350Z's, G35, Mini's, a few motorcycles, and possibly a couple Mercedes, etc. I'm totally excited, it should be a good time.
