No white GTOs built. NO RHD GTOs built. Only red LHD GTOs built. Whats been 'converted' or modified meanwhile is anybody's guess, and we know of a couple of yellow cars (47649 & 54215), a couple of silver cars (54225 & 56335) now returned to red, a black one now returned to red, and a handful of who-knows-what-this-month Brunei cars.

I say they'll all be red again one day, like this original car...

    Well said.

I admit I would have loved to see a picture of the "Indian Blue" Brunei 288 GTO (in the same way I would love to see a picture of the Swaters Blue F40LM that is apparently in a very private collection somewhere).

I think I can beat those wheels. Particularly after the five hour drive to and from Big Sur fire country last week.

Why on earth would he have sold it, unless it was part of a deal that couldn't be done otherwise?

Quite possibly. People part with things for a million reasons and keep them for just as many. Who knows...

Two years ago, when Harley Cluxton III spoke at the Rocky Mtn Ferrari Club dinner, he told some hilarious stories about selling Ferraris to Ralph Lauren. :) Don't know if he sold him that one, though.

HRH Prince Bernhard of Holland inspecting 53319 of John Hugenholtz (red tie) at the Amsterdam Motor Show 6th February 1985. Hugenholtz' father was the architect of the Zandvoort circuit. John is a very successful vintage racer. Prince Bernhard was 74 at the time and a great Ferrari enthusiast. Between 1951 and 1998 Prince Bernhard owned 15 Ferraris, but never a 288 GTO.
