    hey,

right after the 360 stradale, the f430 was introduced.

now that we have the f430 "stradale" which presumably is the f430 scuderia, what do u guys think will be after the f430??

I read in an earlier thread that the replacement for the current F430 is code named the F142, and will most likely be powered by a smaller displacement, turbocharged V8 (somewhere around 3.5 liters and will use direct injection technology introduced on the California). Whether this is true or not I have no idea, but I'm sure that Ferrari will give us one heck-of-a-machine after the 430 Scuderia. I cant wait for more information!

Actually, all of my dealers say it will be a V10 with somewhere around 570hp and a gutted interior similar to the Enzo. Reports already say the 0-60 time is sub 3.4 and top speed is close to 210. Some are saying it will take cues off of the F60 with a possibility of open front wheels.

    Wait... ... ... ... that's all BS.

While all of this is, as of right now, baseless conjecture, there's a clear difference between a Ferrari's engine name and a Ferrari's engine name/type. F490 would be, hypothetically speaking, referring to the F430 successor's name, while F142 would be, hypothetically speaking, referring to engine name/type of the F430 successor. Allow me to provide a breakdown of Ferraris over the last 20 years (split into two groups: V8s and V12s), and their corresponding engine names/types. If anyone can find a pattern, I'd love to see it.

The numbers follow a special sequence that takes prime numbers and, after a few glasses of chianti, you multiply and then divide.

Going on the assumption that you're serious - you did, after all, have a few glasses of chianti - can you expound on your explanation...? Math is not my strong suit (hell it's not even my weak suit).

My dealer said the name will be 460. I just got on it after some form was filled out by the dealer.. He said FNA now has a national list rather than individual dealer lists. Not sure how this will work He said limited availability in 2010 with full production in 2011.

May this be the first ferrari to use electric propulsion in addition to the petrol V8?.Some kind of regenerating-energy, to add some punch, just like the future f1 cars?

I'm no "insider" but electric propulsion isn't going to happen anytime soon in Ferrari. Maybe the breaks retrieving some of the energy used in braking though. It would be a good test bed for a few more things before the Enzo successor.

Whatever it is, it better have a completely new design, the 360/430 looks dated on top of the ugliness factor it already had since day one.

Whatever happened to the classic fluid Italian lines? :( The Cali is looking a lot like the regression of the 8C.
