Interesting to note the driving style differences ... who is driving the first SWB here? ... cause that is just horrid what he is doing to that left front tyre/wheel. I assume caused by going in to hard/deep (maybe wrong line) and causing the left front to compress on to the bump stops (probably). Pete
From the original picture of 1035GT... I'M very happy with this one! Enjoy! Done on Velum drawing paper with blue pen ink... Image Unavailable, Please Login
At first, congratulations to these wonderful photos and drawings. I recently purchased a big photo-book of Tom Burnside "American Racing". Love this book. I'm currently working on a 1/24 scale model of 250 LM sn 6313 racing the 1965 24 h of Le Mans. The body is done but now I have to do the cockpit. Are there interior photos of this car and race? If one of you has such pictures I'd be very happy to see them. If there are no photos available, can someone tell me how the interior colors of this car have been? I believe there have been 2 different interior color-scheemes of 250 LM: - bare metall with blue seats and blck dashboard - all black The members of this thread already helped me with great pictures to complete the body. Thanks again. I will post pictures when my 6313 is done. After building the kit I have two other questions concerning sn 6313 at Le Mans 1965: - What does the script "Team Georges Marquet" mean? I always thought the entrant was Ecurie Francorchamps. - What is the purpose of the two red stripes on the driver side of the car? They look strange. Thank you for your help. Regards, Till. May I recommend the following two books: "Ferrari 250 LM", authored by Doug Nye and Pietro Carrieri 1996, Cavalleria Series, ISBN #3-905268-14-0. "Ferrari 250 LM", authored by Marcel Massini, Osprey Publishing 1982, ISBN #0-85045-527-8. Both books have many interior photographs. The purpose of the red stripe on the door was to better distinguish the car from the other yellow 250 LM race #25. The entrant for car #26 was Pierre Dumay. Marcel Massini
Hi Til. I have Tom's book too and it's wonderful... Too bad all the photos are in BW because some in there are from colour slides and negatives... I have found those interior pics of the 250LM (that should have been named 275)... But not for this particular car. Hope this helps... Marcel, thank you for the quick reply, I will look for your an Doug's books....hope to get examples fitting my limited budget. Thanks also for clarifying the purpose of the red stripes. Concerning the entrant: My kit comes with a decal for the fenders "Team Georges Marquet" I was a bit confused because I never heard of that, but taking a close look at the picture I posted above, makes me believe this could be right. ferrarip4, As soon as it is clear that 6313 had this black / alloy interior, your fotos will be very helpful, thank you. regards, Till.
Oh yes, thank you, Boudewijn, you helped me a lot. In this Image the Decal "Team Georges Marquet" is clearly visible. regards, Till.

Bonjour Philippe. Savez vous ce que signifie "Team Georges Marquet" sur la voiture de votre père? Était-ce un commanditaire, le propriétaire de l'écurie? Salutations!
When I ask to my father few days ago who was Georges Marquet, he just reply that he was a belgium sponsor. No more details. I have never heard of an other car in the G. Marquet team ... so any idea coud be possible : - a real sponsor ? - the owner of the car ? - an invented name to mask the real owner of the car ? - ....... The only thing I know is that only belgian drivers (except P. DUMAY) were on this car. Lot of drivers have used this car : Gosselin/Frank/Boulanger/Dumay/Langlois/Ickx/Eldé, ...) The car have been sold by J.Swaters (manager of Francorchamps team)
Some quick search in the Internet I made on "George Marquet" resulted on finding that a gentleman of that name (and his son of the same first name) used to own luxury hotels in Belgium (before and after WW2)... I'm just speculating but such well off people may be car enthusiasts and have the means to sponsor a racing team... Maybe a post should be done in the belgium section of Fchat to find out about George Marquet...
interesting, as a belgian gentleman i used to know, had a daytona with the exact same livery, giallo with a red stripe on the flanks. sadly car is now gone after owner passed away, no idea where the car is now and if it's been repainted. could it be that this car belonged at one time to the same 'team'?
owner of several luxury hotels and castles, among which the fomous hotel 'la réserve' in knokke and 'kursaal' in oostende. later co founder of the palace hotels and ritz hotels in europe. greetings from belgium
Bonjour Philippe et mercy beaucoup..... You opened a wonderful treasure for us and especially for me..... Now I will go home and spend the evening watching these images and clips, thank you very much. All the best for you and your father, Till.
