FERRARI 288 GTO

i heard there s 3 of them in Spain so i feel sensible for any info.

 

I am told the car we speak of was registered on the island of Tenerife but I have no verification of same...

 

I took that photo, the owner of the car is a "Neighbor"...

I have more photos of it, the car has only 9.000 km...

 

So my info is good then

Hi All,
My first post in this section. I attach a pic of a GTO that I took during the first Benelux meeting in May 1984.
It was the first time I saw a GTO, and I remember how very very excited I was, especially since I did not know there was going to be one.
After seeing a lot efforts by tuning companies like könig companies to widen 308 and detesting all of them for ruining great cars, now I saw a perfect transformation of the 308 design. Not even talking about what's underneath the skin.

Anyway, anyone know which one this is. Maybe Marcello who kindly digitalised my complete photo collection (also this one) from the early FCN years.

Guess it's one of the first GTO.
No licence plates, just a big sticker across the windscreen, it says goodyear, the rest I cannot read.

You know who owned it at that moment?

Checked barchetta/cc (do know any similar sites where you can check sn?) to see how early this example is, but it lists SN 52465 - 58345 which means 50255 would be a bit too early.

The date and the car's lowered suspension setting give the car's identity away...

Where can one find that book?

 

Disagree. All odd and even serial numbers are mixed together (and Dinos within the even-numbered comp cars.......). NOT very useful.

limited edition 3000 units if i remember well. Mattias Urban is on Fchat also, he made the publication of this book.
you can find it on Ebay, if not, i can sell you my 2 example.

i can insure you that Matthias Urban is not guilty. Ferrari makes the serial numbers not him.
the retranscription of these codes are logic, but nothing is logic concerning SN with Ferrari.

if i bought it it was refering Enzo sn ...
In my opinion is a great book.

Matthias Urban is a friend of mine. Didn't say he is guilty. I have the book, of course. Don't need anothere one.
And I do know WHO makes the serial numbers.
May I suggest to discuss these things NOT in the Ferrari 288 GTO thread.
