I remember the original owner of EE 074 AK ( I'm not sure if he still owns it) showing me a picture of him doing a "smoke show" inside the factory gates when he was there to pick it up- It was a great pic- wish I had a copy

Guys, I am really amazed at your knowledge. Obviously I am a novice when it comes to SN.
Great that you have pictures from Colmar berg as well. That is the image that I remember, seeing it on the truck. I have lots more pics from that gto. Also some where it's on the truck in B/W.

Here's another one for you. I know where and when, but telling that would make it too easy for you guys.

Funny, the "GOODYEAR" script is upside down compared to the other pic and what you normally see.

Here is 50253 (NOT 50255!) displayed at the PININFARINA stand at the March 1984 Geneva Motor Show.
The other one, 50255, was on the Ferrari stand on display.

It appears that both 50253 and 50255 had the red cloth inserts on the seats and dash. They also had the (clearance?) box on the rear deck engine cover. Interestingly it shows just the mounting base in this picture with the cover taken off. The later picture shows a flat plate covering the hole in the rear deck. The Yellow GTO also has the flat plate covering the hole in the rear deck. Did these GTO's have their original fuel injection systems updated in a way that provided more clearance above the engine before they were sold? (yes 50253? was redone as an evo version) but the rest all seem to have been changed over...
    Neat early GTO pictures!

In this B/W picture of the interior of 50255 (also in colmarberg) you can clearly see the inserts.

In March 1984 the Swiss Ferrari importer SAVAF (Société Anonyme pour la Vente des Automobiles Ferrari) in Geneva printed a postcard, where the 288 GTO was described as "308 GTO" (see left corner).
