Hi Do you feel any power improvement after the installation of the cat bypass? Any CEL on? I bought a pair of cat bypass from Xost, but not installed it yet. Would be curious to know how it feels. Thank you Regards from Switzerland
Bayarea....TQ i feel the resonation is like Tubi in F1 mode but a lot less when is in normal mode. Boldis & Optrex .....TQ the power is more apparent in the mid to top end and in the lower end is almost the same. No dyno yet so just base on feel and is also confirm by my mechanic from my Ferrari service center. Oh Boldis the cat bypass pipe have no CEL.
You write that you haven't dynoed it with the new exhaust, have you done it before with the original system?
Boldis actually no......but b4 when stock to Tubi is just sound improvement no much of power different from stock. But now the rpm shoot up and wheel spin when i go for the throttle, not b4. But anyway you can really feel there is definitely some power increase from stock & Tubi. Went for some driving and in the tunnel it does really sound like F1 .....sweet here is the low quality vid of my tunnel blasting from my mobile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He2b8hIetXM Will make a better quality vid soon.
Hell of a long tunnel anyhow nice sound, seems not to be a booming system but you where also reving a bit high. I had also tubi be4 and they were booming like hell, it was very hard to drive a long distance with the car. Than i changed the silencer to Supersprint and now it's a lot better. Practically no booming at all, just idling when hot. But i have here this cat bypass pipes from X Ost and can't wait to have them installed..... Really hope in some power increase. Supersprint sell also a complete system with headers and sport cats and claim over 50 HP power increase but I live in Switzerland and would not like to have problems with the homologation guys... So I hope the X Ost brings at least something. Thanks anyhow. Regards
Boldis....you will never regret the cat-bypass upgrade.......enjoy it. Go blast some of the 360's....oh also the lambo. Hahahah The tunnel is 5km....longgggg
Hi Boldis, I just ordered the central silencer and rear silencer boxes (no valve) for my 575. Hesitated to go for the cat bypass, as I was advised that a ECU remap would be necessary. Are you remapping or just keeping the OEM ECU in? Thanks, just curious...if the change that new central pipes and rear boxes make is not noticeable enough, I might consider the cat bypass operation myself. P.S. I was surprised that the guys at X-ost didn't initially know that the 575 central pipes are different from 550--they were about to ship me the 550 pipes but discovered their mistake at the last minute. Now I have to wait until the factory re-opens in September.
Hi Robie my 575 has on stock already straight pipes instead of the central silencer. So I haven't ordered other central pipes. At the moment i have just the SuperSprint rear silencer. About remapping of the ECM for the cat bypass, I don't think it's necessary cause the second lambda sond (the one for controlling the cat function) is just after the pre cats in the headers. So I don't believe that the ECM can detect the missing second cats. Anyhow I imagine that fatlaili knows it better, cause he has already installed the bypass. Hope it helps Regards
Well so far i haven't have any problem with the electronic and also confirm by my mechanic (Ferrari official service center) that no need to remap the ecu. Only problem i have was i cant get enough of it.(driving). No regret. maybe i will do another tunnel drive with a better video quality. Also i have check with Kreissieg Japan and they say is just a direct replacment of the stock exhaust system, should not have any problem with ecu. They have installed a lot of set which they do not encounter problem. Their service is superb. (Thanks Katsumi.) You can get loads of sound sample of their exhaust at their site. http://www.kreissieg.com/
Thanks, guys. I've gotten different answers from different sources on the remap issue--parts suppliers obviously want to upsell you so they say it is essential, but most owners say it is unnecessary. When my installation is complete, I will let you know how it sounds.
