once again, fuel economy races are only interesting if someone runs out in sight of the finish. Felt bad for Helio, 7 (seven!) 2nd place finishes this year. Dixon is clearly the class of the field this year. great runs by Marco and Vitor. gearbox failures a result of series-wide parts shortage? hmmm....
right on .... it just goes to show her one and only win was a fluke and a matter of someone else winning the race for her with their strategy call Carol
I did not get all the news from the weekend, why did Danica start last with no qual time? That said, she did advance some 15 spots or so. How did she drive in general?
She crashed her car pretty badly in final practice and the crew could not put it together in time for qualifying. She did pretty well considering they had no time on the car at the green. She did have a small incidente with Sarah, though... Oh, well. Testosterone...
Sarah Fisher looked very good and I think is a better talent than Danica in equal equipment. Just my opinion, but I believe it was Danica's error that caused the incident between the two. Notice in the interview that Sarah made no mention of Danica's bone head incident. Class act.
Yeah i like Sarah Fisher, she doesn't act like everything is entitled to her, like that other stuck up brat.
I finally got around to watching the race last night about midnight. Very busy weekend. Going to have to watch it again tonight to what my sleepy head missed. Too bad Sarah is only able to compete in 2 races this year and the first at Indy was dismal due to her getting collected by Helio. Someone needs to seriously sponsor her. She has the right attitude and if she could get with the right equipment, I really think she could do something. I do remember one part where EJ Viso was 1-2 laps down and was racing Marco (lead lap) for position. Bonehead! Race control made him back off. Saturday was PERFECT weather in Southern Indiana on Sat, it would have been a perfect day for being at the KY Speedway. I like attending races there.
+1 Sarah Fisher is the best female driver in IRL by a huge margin. It is a shame she has a face like a horse, otherwise perhaps she too would get some PR money to fund her ride.
Question: how many drivers in the field never won an IRL race??? Danica may not be the best, but she must be a better driver than most (if not all) of us and some of the field... It's good to see some cute girls who can drive...
This ridiculous argument again... The Miami Dolphins can kick the crap out of every single high school football team in the world. Unfortunately for them, they don't play in a high school conference, they play in the NFL. And compared to every other NFL team, they suck. Do you judge pro golfers by how they compare to the weekend duffer at your municipal course or do you compare them relative to the rest of the players on the PGA Tour? If you want to discuss Danica, discuss her in the context of her competition, anything else is completely meaningless.
Question for you: How many drivers have made it to the IRL without having won a single auto race in their entire career. Answer: One. Danica.
She can thank her sponsors and managers for that... (by the way she did win some karting championships). Schumi did not win major champioships before he went into F1 either... By the way, you did not answer my question...
Ted does not answer questions, he comes up with ridiculous non-sensical comments like this: "This ridiculous argument again... The Miami Dolphins can kick the crap out of every single high school football team in the world. Unfortunately for them, they don't play in a high school conference, they play in the NFL. And compared to every other NFL team, they suck. Do you judge pro golfers by how they compare to the weekend duffer at your municipal course or do you compare them relative to the rest of the players on the PGA Tour?" What does that crap mean to this discussion????????? Bottom line, Danica Patrick has finished consistently in the points every year she has been in the IRL, usually in the top 6 or 7. Substantially better the most of the men that are in the series. I like Sarah Fisher, cheered for her all the way, but her looks have nothing to do with not having a good ride. Tony Kanaan is not Brad Pitt, yet he has a good ride. Yes, I am suggesting that TK is not an attractive person. I think much of the issue against Danica has to do with her looks, not her ability as a driver. Her stats in IRL speak for themselves. Now her latest temper tantrums are another issue.
Your argument is ridiculous. Schumacher won several championships before making it to F1, including the F3 title, let alone races. In one season in Junior Formula, Schumacher won 18 out of 20 races. Danica has not one so much as ONE SINGLE RACE!
The fall-back argument for those who have nothing to say of substance regarding Danica is to state that she is a better driver than any of us. To which my response is as it has always been: What difference does that make? I am not paid to win IRL races, I do not even contest the IRL Series, so Danica's performance relative to mine is nonsensical. I'm a better portfolio manager than she is, does that mean anything?? She doesn't race me any more than the Miami Dolphins play high school teams. So why would you compare the performance of the Dolphins to your local high school team? You wouldn't because it is a meaningless point. Likewise rebutting my point by saying that Danica is a better driver than me is similarly meaningless. It is the fallback position for those who have absolutely nothing to say in support of their driver, attack the critic if you can't rebut their argument. Ron, you know the point I was making, you are simply trying to stir up trouble again.
