I've been thinking about buying one and wanted feedback from someone that isn't trying to sell me one. Anyone spend any time in the Atom?

Theres some guys in the midwest section who own a simmiliar car called a superlite roadster. If your looking just for an atom then I say go for it but there are cheaper options that deilver simmilar performance.

Not sure how much cheaper, but I will suggest a Lotus Seven/Caterham.

Well, Ariel has figured that out, they added a windshield. Screws with the design, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Noel: There is a guy that I see driving one all the time in Chicago. He must be having a blast cause he is never without a smile and is out driving it ALL the time. Looks like a blast.

They're doing driving events now.. I think it's $800 for a few hours on track. I don't know when/where all the events are, but it's worth a check:

Seems like 70-80k is the starting price even for used.

If anyone is looking for an atom, get that one!

Not with the dealer or anything, but if that is a good car with no history it is about 10K less than any other atom out there.

I have a Caterham Superlight (equivalent off an R400) and a friend has an Atom, both cars are an absolute blast, nothing short of a full on race car is more visceral.

Actually, they are about equal, here is a 3 part video comparison and a mag article

    Video Part One

    Video Part Two

    Video Part Three

    E-Zine article

Caterham is putting the same engine in a Seven as well
