In March this year i was referred to Stebro to buy an exhaust manifold for my 74 Boxer. I contacted Stebro and they advised i would have my manifold in 4 weeks. 4 weeks went by and no manifold. I contacted Stebro and they advised it hadnt been made but that it would be shipped by 28 May 2008 or they would give me my money back. I agreed reluctantly. No such item was shipped so i asked for my money back. Stebro have made many promises including specifying dates when the money was actually sent (One even confirmed that they had checked with post office to confirm it has been sent and would be there in 14 days). The latest was a promise that the money would definately be returned on 7 August 2008 , it wasnt and now they say they are waiting on funds from the person who bought the manifold , but it will be sorted this week.

Does anyone have any contacts at Stebro as all i get are incorrect statements so i can get this resolved?

I will let you make of this what you will , i am happy to share copies of the correspondence between me and Stebro so that you can make your own judgement.

The owner and contact person is Dan Petschenig........he usually handles all the sales issues.

Did you pay by credit card?

If so contact your cc company and challenge the original charges (non delivery).

I'm not sure if there will be a problem due to the lengthy time involved in this transaction though.

That is a crying shame that a company would treat their customers this way.

    Ah, this again.

Unfortunately not uncommon, and not a new problem with them.

They used to stay in business because their prices were so much lower than the competition while still maintaining a good build quality. No idea how they do it now??

I've had several people ask me lately and I've told them all the same thing. Since they have raised their prices I wouldn't recommend doing business with them. The quality is probably still fine but there are a lot of options out there in the same price range and you won't have to deal with the horendous customer service record of Stebro.

Took me months to get a tailpipe insert from them. The first one came late, with a defect, and the second one came months later.

Absolutely ridiculous, but I had to deal with them, because the PO had installed a Stebro on my 77 GTB, and a tailpipe insert fell out...
