For precision control needed for illustration & photo editing (mask outlining, etc) does it make a difference? How much aggravation is the battery power? Which high end mice do you like w/ smooth action being top priority?

I'm an avid FPS player, and I use a wireless mouse all the time. Just make sure, it has a laser vs optical sensors. I usually stick with Logitech because they probably make the best mice ever.

I have a basic $35 dollar wireless mouse from Logitech, that I use, but this one is supposed to be incredible.

Yeah, that sure looks dreamy! I like the rubberized grip. I've also wondered about those w/ tilt scrollers for zooming in & out. I need something I can draw fine edges w/ & is comfortable for intense use all day.

Apple's bluetooth Mighty Mouse, in my opinion, mostly sucks. It uses a non-visible wavelengh (i.r.?) laser which doesn't work nearly as well as the more traditional red lasers. The only surface it really works well on is the matte aluminum finish of the MacBook pro. It also loses synch (or something) with the computer and occasionally requires it be dissociated from the computer and then "resynchronized" to work right. Mine broke in half in a fall off a table and unless they revise the design I wouldn't buy another, particularly not for $70. The regular USB Mighty Mouse works great, no complaints.

Wirless mouse is better just because when you getting in detail the wire wont tangle up and throw your hand to the other side of the desk. Otherwise i have a Wacom drawing tablet which is amazing for such work

Wireless vs. wire is only an issue if you're a hardcore gamer. I hate wireless mice cause the batteries always go on strike when you're in the middle of doing something important.

I have to agree. I've had one for over a year now. The thing that bugs me the most is the right clicking, and because of other cables or even a mousepad or something else on the table, if it obstructs clicking, it just doesn't go anywhere. That's the main difference from clicking the entire top down vs. clicking buttons down on top.

My vote is in for laser wireless all the way. There's no difference in accuracy with the laser pointers on wireless. You'll still need to blow into the IR/laser when a piece of lint gets caught in there. I use it for just about anything from gaming, photos, design, web and a bit of development too.

Do you disclose to potential clients that you are clueless about things of this nature?

Your grandiose claims to date haven't affected anyone else but now you're crossing the line.

Is this how you justify this lie? To eat.....?

There is a difference between the red optical mice and the laser mice.

Logitech G5 or its wireless twin, the G7. Excellent mice with excellent accuracy.

G5 is poor, it uses first of the new laser engines and as a result has poor tracking on many surfaces.
I bought one for way too much on its release and can easily cause it to lose control even at reasonable speeds.

For drawing it is also disadvantaged due to the sensor placement, for some reason the designers skewed it off to the side.

IMHO go with a previous generation logitech optical, any will do. You will save money. Laser mice suck.

Been on wireless for about 5 years now - all good. For the first few years I just kept buying bucketloads of the cheap korean batteries for it - like $2 for 20 of them, but got tired of changing batteries once every couple days. Started using the same high-end rechargables I use in my camera - only have to change them a few times a month.

Batteries are more an inconvenience than a financial burden since I order tons of AA in the 36pk at a time for wireless mics, etc. every couple weeks from our hospital vender. I do hate being interrupted by slow response to change batteries like w/ my Nikon digital SLR cameras while trying to shoot max FPS. I can tell when my battery is dying but can't stop to replace sometimes. Do mice grow slow? Or is it all at once?

Have you made your purchase? I know buying a mouse can be a trying experience - both mentally and physically - and I'm wondering what your final decision was.

Slowly, unless it has been exposed to a lot of radiation.

I bought that one some while ago. Very satisfied with it, especially the fast scroll option and the recharging indicator. I'm not doing any games or drawings though but I have no problems with tracking or anything.

    Search V1's history.

Pretty much lied about everything she has done and completely over dramatized it all to the hilt in the process.....

I ordered a bunch of them. The Kengston ones were too large a grip & I had to really stretch my 1st finger to reach the schroller. So far I like the Logitech MX 620 but it too is a bit large. I haven't found the perfect mouse yet.

You are right about that! The hospital pays for all computer & camera equipment. I pretty much can buy anything I want. Sweet.

I don't know as far as precision goes, but I got rid of my wireless mouse because the battery would always decide to die at the worst possible time and it ended up driving me nuts.
