Anybody know the best place to get a new or refurbed radiator for my 90 348. I put the lift accidentally under the left radiator core support and punctured the radiator when the lift went up. Ouch!!! Lesson learned!!!!

I punched in 348 radiator into your search box and I didnt actually look at what came up till just then. :D:D

I saw two items found, so I posted the link to it. I didnt realise that you had them listed as water radiators on your site, but I do now. :p:p

So yeah, im sure its the LH water radiator thats ****ed! Such a shame. Gotta be very careful around that area. :):)

    It'll still leak.

Buy a new one, I think I heard (or read) they are $1200, if I remember correctly

No it wont still leak, the plastic tank is stronger in the area of the repair than the rest of it . Its probably cracked @ the nipple that sticks through the floor & cocked it on an angle. I thought the same thing & still have the $1200 in my pocket, so lets see , what's to lose by not tryin to fix it ,oh yeah ,$1200. Take it out (1/2 hr at most)& post the photos & I will explain what to use that WILL seal ANY crack you have . Then take the $1200 bucks & get carbon door sills & a MOMO wheel . Sounds like a good idea doesnt it.I'm only trying to help, or buy 2 new ones cause the other might go bad, kinda like the timing belt.(sarcasm)

Easy to recommend replacement when you're not the one paying isnt it.

And you know this from attempting how many radiator tank repairs?

Fairly sure I have a good used one in the spares trailer.

Repairing the plastic tanked radiators is usually a futile effort.

I've had very little luck fixing anything made of plastic, not that it can't be done.

If you do try it, I would pressure test it before reassembly.

Took the part out and the seal between the plastic and the core is broken. My radiator guy of 25 years won't touch it. A gasket sealer or epoxy cement might not hold up once the unit is pressurized. I think getting a new one is my best bet.

30 minutes would be really quick to get the radiator out. It sounds like you would be best served with a new or spare radiator. When we were doing the two stooges yearly maintenance on Mick F's 348 the drain plug broke off into the radiator and no shop would work on that either. We did the ND recommended "pry and try repair" and it has held up fine, although it took about 4 hours altogether for the less mechanically inclined. Just after getting everything ready to go I said "Hey what's this extra hose clamp for?"

I too had to replace mine, but was 'only' half the cost of the 348 apparently. How about having a custom aluminum radiator made? No clue what those cost, but at least you get rid of those cheap plastic ends.

It depends how bad you want it out. The LS radiator (which was my issue)removal is removing the LR wheel, forward inner well & its right there. Top retaining nuts, fan retaining nuts,2 hoses.
If youre not in a hurry it could be longer , if you're about to go on a trip & cracked the rad lifting the vehicle the sense of urgency becomes greater. The crack I had was @ the bottom of the tank @ the nipple that sticks thru the floor closest to the 1/4 panel. The crack was 1 inch long . I cleaned it made sure there was no more coolant in the area so the epoxy would not be contaminated. It dried for 24hrs. 6000 miles later no problemo. I guess it also depends on where the crack is & how big it is..but I could just be lucky. ....I had seen many other components repaired using 2 different epoxys on several other vehicles @ a friends shop....so I figuredd what the heck I'll try it ..........

I would give it a go gluing it. :):)

I did this on my old Mitsubishi many years ago and it held up till the day I actually replaced the radiator. :D:D

And the only reason I replaced the radiator was because the core had rotted out. Otherwise, it would still be in there. Glue worked a treat. ;);)

There is only around 10-15 psi in the average cooling system, so it may just work. ;);)

I'll gladly get another radiator , send me the money. When & if it leaks I'll buy another one. What a talker, laugh if you want & call me names LOSER, I can post the documented $30,000 I have spent repairing my 348,so if it works is it Mickey mouse ? How much have you spent on yours, do you even own a Ferrari? I bet if Ferrari sold an official "radiator repair kit" you would buy it whether it worked or not because their name was on it jerkoff, Slow windows, sticky interior, garbage trans, leaking fywheels, speaking of MIckey Mouse,do I really have to bash the vehicle I paid for to prove point to a loser like you,DUDE.

Don't feed the argument. It is your car, do what YOU think. Nobody is going to reimburse you for buying a new radiator, and nobody (here) is going to fetch ya if your repair doesn't hold up. The repair we did on Mroadster's car wasn't the prettiest, but it has been working just fine.

I wasnt trying to "pass the hat around "for radiator money ,not putting my hand out , this could get political you know if we start speaking of hand outs, & definity wasnt about to make a post I'm stuck come "fetch me " as you put it , so dont fret, and I didnt know there was an arguement, just Lenny calling me Mickey Mouse,Donald Duck would've been much better, its name calling , whatever, whatever whatever,Where is Lenny to defend himself Anyway? Probably epoxing something....

I just checked my AAA card & it has no phone # only Fchat web address in case of Emergency, wow!

At least you have the AAA. I broke down and had Allstate Motor Club. It was not so good, now I'm signed up with AAA also.

    Pretty arrogant sounding...

Especially when the person was asking for opinions and advice.

No to be arrogant, the "tone" was that of someone being told a repair couldnt be done when it can & was. Its OBVIOUS to "buy a new one". Part breaks buy a new one.Alternative advice is what makes this chat forum great.Hey you never know mine could leak today, but so far so good, and my question was , how many have you tried to repair ? No answer ? Pretty arrogant to tell me it will leak when mine didnt. So ,does that make me a liar? I spoke from my own experience. If you did also please share it . I only repaired the plastic tank, not the core.
