But, if you're worried about it, Rob, don't you have good contacts at FNA? Why not give them a call, just to check in? You don't have to even bring this up, just sort of make contact and see if they mention anything to you.

That's all fine and dandy, but good, honest people don't make a joke about someone supposedly dying. Especially in the wake of all the FChatters who have really passed away in the past days, months, years. It's disrespectful to us and especially them. And how can we be certain that gifts like that aren't made to inflate someones ego?

They ruined all respect a lot of us had for them by pulling that crap. The line was crossed beyond it being 'just a joke'. And now it's just childish antics, and proves some people never grow up.

From what I understand is that Gene has faked his own death and has masterminded this whole thing about him dying. Gus nor Perry did not post anything because it was a sick internal joke initiated by Gene so he can find out how everyone thought of him if he were dead. From my source, somehow Gus is an idiot when it comes to computer related stuff and the worst part is he does not want to learn, Gus screwed up from his phone; Instead of replying to the people involved, he hit the FORWARD TO ALL button instead of the REPLY button. From there, one of Gus`s car salesman got the message and posted it on this forum. The blame should go to the car salesman for posting a text message without confirmation. If the salesman contacted Gus and verbally verified that Gus told him that Gene died, the Gus is at fault and yes, I would have lost all respect for him, but I know that is not the case with his character. I do not know him personally but know people that do and I have not just heard good things about him, but absolutely wonderful things that seems it is too good to be true. So everyone needs to get their facts straight before bashing or accusing someone. Ferrari is not the problem here, if you bash innocent people, that is what is going to shut this site down. Especially if the person is Gus where he has thousands of powerful people that know and respect him.
I don`t know who Gene nor the salesman is but from what I gather, those two are the dumb ones who needs to be held accountable for.

Not to defend Gus or his friends, but if I were accused of something I did not do, I would be upset too. In this case, everyone of Ferrari Chat knew about him and passed judgement and anyone would be upset and try to defend themselves or seek justice. I still think that Gustan should have contacted you first and try to settle this matter instead of going straight to Ferrari. It just does not fit his profile. I know there is more to the story that we all know about. Why don`t you give everyone a chance to come back and explain their sides of the story and put all this to rest?

With their track record here for well... inaccuracies, I don't think there is anything to be gained from that.

These guys have dug themselves a deep hole, and continue to post some pretty serious stuff on other websites that indicate a lack of respect for the integrity of this site.

Besides, if their posts elsewhere can be believed, they aren't interested in rejoining us anyway.

 

I am mainly a lurker here and normally do not like to post but in this particular case, whether all four of them come back or not, by giving them all an opportunity and explain their side would give the members of this forum to be the judge what the reasoning behind their alledged actions were and put this thread to a final rest. There are always misunderstanding and I think that these misunderstandings can be justified by hearing everyone`s story and the reason behind it and the members here could be the jury and Rob can be the judge to see whether they are welcomed back or sentenced to a legitimate ban. If any of them committed B.S. they will not want to come back and state their side of the story. As for Gus, my belief is that he is probably pouting because he got accused of something he believes he did not do and did not deserve to be sentenced to a long term ban by Rob and since he is banned, he cannot explain the circumstances and his side of the story to his friends and members here on Ferrari Chat.

I have been on this site for only a short time and really have no business giving my opinion but I'm going to anyways. Have we all forgotten how fortunate we are to be able to share with each other our passion for Ferraris or whatever car you've grown to love. Soap opera comes to mind when I read some of the posts here. The only difference is this is real life and there are peoples livelyhoods at stake. This whole mess started as a bad practical joke that got way out of control. Name calling ensued, feelings were hurt and now who knows what will happen. I think we should all be thankful we have the freedom to post our feelings but always remember they can have lasting repurcussions. I myself made a stupid comment on another forum stating that F-Chat seemed kind of boring since the banning of the practical jokers, then after it was too late to withdraw the coment I realized I was as bad as the rubberkneckers at the car accident. Maybe some Ghandi like thinking is in order, before we bash, ban, ridicule, start a vendetta we should think about apologies and forgivness. I would rather leave the soap operas for my Mom to watch.
