Not sure if true but I heard Massa blew the engine himself with a bad shift or something to that effect. A driver screw up might be another reason to keep it quiet.

Im not sure if you can over rev these cars by downshifting too much. Like a modern ferrari F1 box, or BMW SMG box, or maser Cambio corsa box... the computer will not let you select too low of a gear.

Not sure if this is 100% true, but I would shocked if it wasn't

I wouldn't think that in a modern F1 it would be possible to have a bad shift as it's all controlled by the ECU.

There is a Rev Limiter built into the ECU, you can just put your foot the floor and it will bounce off the rev limiter all day long. It's that way in the Ferrari and Maserati road cars as well...

Fortunately this news/rumour has been denied by the GeS (underlining that it was really a one-off failure by one particular part), in fact the updated engine did pass all its tests at the testbench. Badoer is going to verify the changes (which overall, I reckon, are absolutely minor) during the shake down for Valencia. Normally during shake downs no GP-weekend engines are used (not unnecessarily stressing them) but this time it will be an exception.

The Austrian company has improved the way the way they operate as well as the quality measures they carry out, which Ferrari repeat before mounting the engines in the car. Changing Raikkonen his engine has never been taken in consideration.

Which is why F1 will never revert to stick and clutch gearboxes.

The way that Massa ran at the start of the race I thought that maybe he had sold his soul to the devil. At the end, I was thinking he must have cancelled the deal.

He was just so damn fast at the start. Maybe he was running on moonshine!

Massa is full of surpises, zero to hero type, and back again, and it's hotly debated on here.
