    Hello

    i have a f430 spyder now

i am planning to change it with ferrari california (as new f430 photos will be around next may) and then exchange again when new f4xx spyder comes

i dont want my f430 to depreciate so much because the new model coming and i want to try something different(i can do same plan with a lamborghini gallardo instead of california)

It wont be as easy with the depreciation hit you will take with the Lambo.

Bad plan if you execute with the Lambo because of terrible depreciation.

whether you go with a lambo or a california, you'll get a small hit with depreciation (the california ain't depreciation proof like the F430)... I would stick with the F430, and wait for the replacement model... the replacement should be revealed end 2009, and the spider version end 2010, that's 2 years from now... any car you get, even a california, would be seriousely depreciated by then... that's my "humble" opinion... :)

are you in with your dealers to even get the new ferrari model? there will be alot of people who will have to wait 2 years to get to new model as they have clients that go to the top of the list every time

Why would you trade your beautiful 430 Spyder for a Toyota MR2? Oh, wait, is that a Ferrari badge on the MR2? Oh, well, that makes all the difference in the world.

SERIOUSLY . . . On a practical note, your plan is flawed. A car's biggest depreciation his (other than poor treatment or an accident) is taking the original title and driving it off the lot. Let's say that in 1 year, a new car depreciates from 100 to 85. Well, about 10 of that depreciation occurred when you made it a 'one owner car." The remaining 5 in depreciation took place over the year or so that you drove it. In another year, it may depreciate another 5 or so.

If, however, you take the 85 and exchange it for something that costs 100 (meaning you add 15 of cash) and you drive the 100 off the lot, you make it 85 all over again.

If you know you are going to trade agaiin in a year, from a financial standpoint, it makes no sense to take 2 new car depreciation hits in the year as those are the biggest hits.

If money is no object, then go ahead, buy that Toyota.

Well if money doesn't matter, then do what you want and don't worry about it. I think the money always matters as some level.

Go with it! you might be always living with new technology from Maranello. Hope when you say Gallardo, I assume you mean LP560-4.
