Boardwalk has a red one with 1300 miles and asking is $277k http://www.auction123.com/showroom/boardwalk_ferrari_maserati/2005/Ferrari/Superamerica/F1A/ZFFGT61A050146150.html?showroom_dealer=7847&wait=false Are these starting to drop in price? PS - looks like it does not have a GTC pack
I have done a lot of research and written about this on another thread. Prices are even lower than that. Offer $250K and show them you have the money and you will get it.
Why do we think these prices are dropping right now when Barchetta prices seem to be firming up a bit? Supposed to be a great car, but IMHO they are a bit ugly. The C pillars, and the top/trunk make the car too functional looking for me. I think the fact that most of these were F1 trans and not 6spds will hurt their value and cause a 550 Barchetta to surpass it at some point.
But, I think weakness is everywhere in the market. If you look at actual sales of Barchettas there is no evidence of firming. In fact, they continue to fall. I know. I was offered s**t for mine when I tried to trade it. I am really in the market--and have been for a while--but I sincerely believe that we have much farther to fall and I believe things are going to get much worse before they get better. I am hoarding cash right now, in a completely defensive posture. This economy is getting ugly. As for the cars themselves, I completely love the Barchetta, but it is getting to be a very old car. Little things like the lack of GPS or the old stereo with no i-pod aux input, or the look of the gagues. It does not compare with the SA, which, even though modern, is also starting to look dated. Go drive a 599, and you will find a state of the art, rocket ship. Again, I love my car, but against the 599 it is like the Apollo rocket vs the space shuttle. If you drove the 575 SA first, you would never be happy with the Barch. Right now, I am hunkered down, waiting for the world to end.
If you are in finance, you know why I am hunkered down. We saw this coming and we think it will get worse before it gets better. Right now, my first priority is to make sure there is enough cash to ride the storm. Second priority is to start picking the bones of those who blew up. The residential market has been crushed, and it is not starting to hit the commercial markets--financing has dried up and companies were using residential profits to fuel commercial. How does this relate to Ferraris? Prices fall. Good bargains are starting to appear and more will appear as we work through the inventory. As for being hunkered down, the Chairman of our company has a farm house, complete with underground 500 gallon gas tank, a water purifier that makes 250 gallons a day, and solar panels and batteries for energy. Oh, and he has a closet full of scotch, in case all else fails.
Ramon Allones Churchill, Siglo VI, Partagas No 1, or the Rush Limabugh favorite, La Flor Dominica Double Ligero Chisel? How about 'all of the above?'

+10 the recent rally of the dollar against gold and the euro is, in my opinion, total BS and temporary. we haven't seen anything yet.
agree: hang tight, times are NOT seeming to improve. We have a bunch new inventory and banks are being di$ks towards our buyers......maybe next year.

I agree with the hunker down concept, just not the "end of the world" concept. It feels like a very sloooow train wreck and it may be that enough time will elapse to give everyone some wiggle room and bootstrap out of this. I AM concerned that the banking system seems broken in some parts of the country (personal experience in FLA) where even reasonable risks are not underwritten either from poor balance sheet (understandable) or lack of risk appetite (those that can muster the stomach can find some good deals out there!) just my 0.02.
