and to confuse me more, i have read that TDF blu is the " same as " blu chiaro?

anybody have any good pics, of these colors on 308's? i though blu sera was the dark blue.

anyway, at least its not red! :)

sera or chiaro, what say you.......

The color in the picture from the original poster is much darker than blu chiaro. I am not sure it is blu sera. i find that TDF blue has a purple tint, and is not the same as chiaro. There is a thread in the showroom section i think that is just blue ferraris (and maybe another of just blue 328).

I believe you're right. Being a fan of the Blus (and Verdes), I'd say the first photo is of a Blu Scuro car imho..

    cool, thanks guys.

the car in my post will be here in a week or so.

    i bought it thursday.

it was referred to by the seller as blue chiaro, but i am not so sure. i dont have any better pics of it. vin is *44297*. 83 euro gtb QV.

perhaps it has a paint sticker.... will ask the seller.

i do like the color, whatever it is, as its not red! :)

Speaking of dark blue 308s, could anyone tell me which colour this 1978 308 GTB is? It's Glidden Salchi 106A22, but I couldn't find the name that belongs to this paint number. I've looked in the Bluemel book but there are no paint numbers for the metallic paints for the 1975-1979 model years. Is it Blu Sera as well? Thanks.

    Michael,

Congratulations! Having it trucked home? We may be the minority but non-red is just fine.

My 1986 328 is chiaro blu and my 1992 512TR is sera blu. I would consider sera to be a shade darker than chiaro. Both are spectacular in the sunlight. Enjoy your new toy...and welcome to the blu brotherhood :)

Wow, very nice pair of blue F cars. I prefer the darker shade but both look great.

    Best regards,

If you haven't seen a blu chiaro Ferrari, you haven't seen that color anywhere. It has some green to it, in the right light -- very striking color.

I tend to prefer darker shades of blue. I saw a blu chiaro 328 about 2 years ago at a show and it was very nice looking, but maybe I'd have to see blu sera Fcar in person to be fair to each.

    Best regards,
    Dino

Some nice colours there for sure.
However comparing non white point and gamma corrected images on non-calibrated monitors is a bit of a crap shoot.
You'll get an idea where both colours are in the same image but where they've been taken on different cameras and post processed in different software even more variation is added.

What ever blue your new car turns out to be I'm sure you'll be happy.
