    It's the 50th anniversary of the Chicago Air & Water show, so they added a third day. That means they were out practicing all day yesterday, and the jets are flying overhead right now. I LOVE it when the show is in town. We can see the planes from our deck, too!

    our air show was cancelled indefinitely, :(. however, the 82nd airborne was in town this week for their reunion, i was looking up and saw a bunch of parachuters, a cool site. however, i wish we still had a good airshow.

    B1 flew over me around an hour & 15 minutes ago inbound to Chicago...

    Nothing much in my skies other than apparently diverted civilian traffic (plenty of that).

    The "history of the air superiority fighter" pic with the P51/F4/F15/F22 is about the coolest thing I've ever seen.

    That being said - the B-1b has been one of my favorites since I was about 3 years old.

    Nice shots. I saw 2 B1B's and a KC135R sitting by the hush house at O'hare this morning at work. The last one left ORD about 1PM this afternoon.
    Those things are loud. Just think how loud they are with full afterburners!!

    Sorry, no. The Phantom is such an icon, but it made barely any passes. Mostly it was flying up high in the group of four. Just about 1 solo pass per day.

    Anyhow, my personal fav would be the stealth bomber. Also only a couple passes. Looks more like an UFO or something from a Batman movie. Unreal.

    The Blue Angels are a joint Navy/Marine operation. To the best of my knowledge at least 1 Blue Angel pilot is always a Marine. Lots of Marines have fought from carrier decks. Last I heard all Marine pilots are carrier qualified no matter what they fly.
