    Hey Guys...

Need to do a quick replacement on the short coolant hoses that connect the metal pipes on the passenger side just forward of the motor.

Not sure what size they are.. have not had time to remove and want to order silicone replacements and just get it done.

From what I've tried to find here, it appears that the correct size is 1" 5/8 or 41mm. I have seen some debate that suggest 38mm.

Anybody have any sure input.. would love to get them ordered to have the before the weekend.

    Thanks,

    Paul

NAPA should have the hose in stock. take one of your pipe sections or fittings if you can, or an old hose and look at the mentioned sizes and match them. the only hose you really need to by thats ferrari is the 90 degree short radiator hose in the front.

    Michael..

Thanks for the reply. Have no intentions of going to Ferrari for this part although I wanted to replace with silicone instead of the standard or Gates green stripe.

Was trying to find out the size to save me some time. Order correct size, R&R the old hose I'm done! Just a little crunched for time right now and figured somebody here would know the correct size.

    Thanks,

    Paul

i listed the sizes i used in the sticky 308 parts cross reference thread. NAPA sells the gates green stripe, which is what i used. cars were carb 308s, gtb/ gts / gt4. also used them on my Pantera, which has about 10,000 4 inch long sections of hose everywhere. :)

    Michael,

I'll have to check that cross reference sticky.. for some reaon that just slipped my mind. My car is a QuadValve.. not sure if that makes a difference on these but we'll see.

Why'd you have to go an mention Pantera?
I miss mine sooo much.. 85 GT-5 S. Always got a kick outta buying repair parts for it at the local speed shop, Auto Zone etc.. And what a brute to drive, mine was non-stock.. previous owner had the motor done by Holman Moody, and the custom headers flowed right out into the stock Anza exhuast. I loved the noises that car used to make!!

I've been successful in mimicking the wrapped (wrapped appearance only), at a few of those "mom & pop" stores, it was a little more $$ and had a 3/4" double paralleled strip down the middle (easily panted black-as I did-as I’m the ultimate projectionist). You can cut it into needed sections. I think maybe as Michael mentioned, the stock would come in 4-feet measurements. I found it to be very, very close to O.E. appearance. To my surprise I only found it in the non-retail chain stores.

Good luck, you may want to consider re-doing the entire coolant lines....it's a real treat though...

    Regards,

    Chris.
