I would definately remove the 512TR badge. Other than that this car looks very nice in the pics. I would rather have painted wheels rather than the chromies. If the car checks out cosmetically and mechanically - that's a fair deal.

Bad advertising as a 512 is a very different car.

The 512TR emblem Looks like a (sad) attempt to "PIMP" up a Ferrari Testarossa

Whats up with the speaker holes punched into the leather door panels?

I can see placing new rims on the car (and keeping the Factory original ones for restoration) but stuff like adding 512TR and placing HUGE speakers behind the seats seems tacky to me..........perhaps I'm just a died in the wool traditionalist when it comes to prancing horses.

Sorta like putting an M3 badge on a 335, a sad attempt to be something bigger and better. Even stranger that they left the testarossa badge on the right side!

On the plus side, anyone else notice the K40 radar install on the console (looks like its just to the right of the gear lever)?

The ad and the banner both say "88 TR.......512 BADGES".

Seems more honest to me than most ads.

    Where's the beef?

Early 512TR also had Testarossa badge so you might tell Ferrari.

The AD on ebay originally did not state 512 Badges .........it said '88 Testarossa 512'.......'512 BADGES' this was edited by the seller.

I don't think this issue is of any consequence except it makes the seller seem like he was not very knowledgeable about his own car...in a best interpretation of the AD.

It is a car lot. Goest to show their experience with Ferrari.

The lack of knowledge by many about Ferrari is profound. I got in a long and mostly friendly argument with a guy with a Firebird that had a body kit and a bunch of Ferrari badges on it. He knew it was Firebird based but still insisted it was a Ferrari. He absloutely refused to believe Ferrari was a company that built complete cars like Chevy and Ford....Just smaller.

I e mailed the seller and he replies that since the 512TR didn't come out til 1992 he beleaved no one would be confused. Well, I wasn't confused but it certinaly was false advertising. They did change the ad, but originally it stated in the ad title that it was a 1988 Testarossa 512TR, which clearly is not true. Originally it said nothing about 512TR badges, but rather that it was a 512TR. Atleast they fixed the ad to read honestly.

I saw the K40 too. Thought it looked o.k.. As far as the badging. I think this guy just got caught. I don't believe it was just a honest error.. IMO

Hey Kenco, how much for the beaut. I love the flat bleck finish. That style is really getting popular.

Well, after seeing that I can get 57K for it, maybe I'm not selling anymore.
