That sucks Can it be "fixed"? - If it's only the transmission (part #4) you can probably cut it out and reverse it. Good luck, Cheers, Ian
Yep I fixed it, really easy, the little peg that it goes into was to big took about a minute of sanding and some gluing, and it was perfect!
HA HA, people are finally starting to discover the main differences between a Tamiya model and a Revell one.
Ouch! - To be fair to Revell, there was a reason the "peg" didn't fit - 'cos it was round the wrong way! I agree their moldings are not as "perfect" as Tamiya, but the builder was at fault in this case (Sorry, Austin-Martin, but that's my take on what happened.) In fact, I dry-fit these parts again today, partly to try and to see what happened, and it was obviously "user error", not bad engineering on Revell's part. Furthermore, this "transmission" (part #4) should, IMHO, be glued to part #6, and painted as a single assembly, long before it gets attached to the chassis. However, while gazing at the assembly guide, I did notice that "section 1" was labelled "front grille assembly" - It's actually the "rear grille assembly", so I'll concede that Revell are a long way from perfect as well...... Cheers, Ian
As I've said in my F2007 thread, in order to get a Revell to come out nicely you pretty much have to throw out the instructions and build it in a different order and hack up the parts a bit. IMO it's certainly worth the 20$ extra to buy the Tamiya kits. Can't wait to see some pix of the finished model.
