Great car. Do you have more photos? Are you sure that the colour is identical to the Miura Roadster?

Perhaps this is an issue for the Espada thread.

Wow. the Roadster came out gorgeous!!! Perfection!

It itself is an award that marks Gary Bobileff as THE premier vintage Lamborghini restorer in the world. IMO.

I was a bit disturbed at first when I heard that the Miura ZN75 Spyder or the ILZRO was undergoing a resto last year & feared for the worst in loosing a unique part of the miura family - regardless of the factory involvement being unresolved for many the ILZRO car was certainly unique.

I wrongly thought we would end up with an owner with no taste and a restorer happy to give a lime green paintjob and a thorough (perhaps even too thorough) remurification.

What a pleasure it is then to see that in loosing the lead we gained a more important car back from the dead in all its reborn glory.

Well done anyone involved in the project - the car is now simply fantastic in detail (all those bits I love round the engine & on the Webbers correct and are just right) and a paintjob to die for.

I don't know who owns it but he's a lucky bastard.

    Bax.

Ok, so is the color on the roadster exactly the same as the original showcar color? And the knock of spinners were originally not chromed, were they?

They are not chromed now either. They are nickel-plated...

    Same color.

Was the roadster on the tour? If not, then perhaps that made the difference. It also may have been a valid reason for choosing modern rubber, which I don't believe you can deduct points for. I also felt the 350 it was very nicely restored. In retrospect, it's hard to ignore #102s importance to the Lamborghini marque, at least until the carcass of #101 turns up.

I think I may be the only one with the following viewpoint, but I honestly believe that Lamborghini made a mistake rolling out the roadster in those colors in the 60's- I feel they actually detract from the natural beauty of the shape of the car. That said, I'm very glad to see it restored to original condition.

I'm surprised you think this. It was, afterall a Bertone Show car with all that entails. Have you seen the car in real life? I actually think that the color made the car.

    Fair comments.

However, lots of cars on the Tour use period rubber and I think the extra effort to mount same for the actual show deserves note, and therefore preference over a car using non-period rubber.

I cant agree that the winning GT's significance to Lamborghini's history even comes close to that of the one-and-only world famous Miura Roadster.

Additionally, I respect your thoughts on the Roadster's original livery but I have to say that to many its light blue metal-flake represents the epitome of pure swinging sixties flamboyance...

It looks stunning. Is it rigid enough to do some decent cornering?

    Joe...

Thank you for all the beautiful pics from Carmel and especially the Miura Roadster! That has to go down as possibly the world's most beautiful sports car ever. I also enjoyed meeting you and your wife in Carmel Saturday. Thank you for the t-shirts and your car looked fabulous!

Here's my latest toy... I'm still envious of you Miura owners though!

Yes, way back when Bertone stiffened the chassis. This is the real deal done right. The restoration meant it shed 750 lbs of zinc doo-dads...
