14412 is now in my possession. I love the car, very original. Engine bay definitely needs to be detailed. Wheels are in good condition but needs to be re sprayed. Trying to decide what to do with the interior. Leather is in good condition but is very dirty looking and almost sticky. I think someone put some sort of cleaner on and did not finish. I am in the process of fixing that but they may need to be dyed. I don't think that paint code sticker was there when it was showed at Cavallino a few years back. I have driven the car about 250 miles since I bought it and will now send it down to Tim Stanford to give it a thorough check. First thing I did when I recieved the car was to re install the original steering wheel. Floor mats are still there - I know they are not original but kinda look period correct. Attached is a picture of the wheels I just had redone on my C/4. Thay came out great.

"Any pointers to other good examples welcomed. I will post in the WTB section as well. I'm in Silicon Valley."

    hey Paul,
my full restoration on a 1975 US Spec Dino 308 GT4 is nearing completion. it has received all the restoration attention a car possibly could.
it will be in 'as new' condition, and i just need someone to choose a factory colour. it is a desirable model year considering your location and easily amongst the finest available anywhere.

i'll send you a PM with additonal detail, and a small offering of pics are available immediately at the website in the current projects folder.

Glad to see that Andrew's GT4 went to an FChatter, and that it will start to get some use now (eg. taken out of the "bubble" storage). So go and DRIVE !

To those looking, its a wide range of condition, mileage, maintenance and therefore PRICE.

You see some beaters in the upper teens.
    Reasonable drivers (+/- maintenance/major) in the 20's
Excellent drivers to Garage Queens in the mid-upper 30's,
and we all know of the Caribou type restorations which have sold somewhat recently in the low $40's (and these typically go behind closed doors in private transactions).

Given all of the above, my recommendation is to find another GT4 afficionado like JimShadow, DStacy or others....and use them to consult on your search/find. One thing we have all learned (I think) is that public FCHAT is somewhat helpful, BUT PHOTOS ALWAYS LOOK GOOD, and provoke the standard "wow", "Nice car" "if I didnt already have one I'd buy it" commentary which is less than helpful in the critical decision making. Alternatively, there can be the web-trashing of non-spec cars, too. Not much middle ground -- so choose your consultants wisely.

and ALWAYS, ALWAYS shell out the $500 for a PPI, and have someone eye-ball the car and its title paperwork (autocheck) before you commit.

Congrats on your purchase! You have bought a wonderful car...I know...I tried to buy it a couple years ago, but ultimately decided I had to have a GT4 to drive, not show. Luckily for me I found the perfect GT4 for ME.
    That C4 wheel looks amazing!!!!
Give us a 1st drive report. I'd love to hear your impressions of the car on a decent drive.

For those looking - I am assisting with two GT4's for sale, and as posted in this thread earlier -- varied prices.

'78 Red/Red with 46K miles, recent interior replacement and much recent mechanical sorting ($17K in receipts). Mid to upper $20's. Great Driver.

'79 Dino Blue Metallic/Tan, Absolutely Mint original 15K miles. Fresh major, new wheels (plus originals) and X-Ost. Showroom. One of the best in the US. $37K with original equipment to $42,500 with extra wheels, tires and X-Ost. (My old car -- only BETTER).

The Blue Dino WAS a Garage QUEEN, but she gets out and about regularly since 2007 !

Will probably put them up on FCHAT soon. You can view at www.scuderiaautosport.com

use leatherique on the leather its the best. I love my gt4, did anyone see in Forza they had the Gt4 at the highest range of any of the early 308 GTB GTBi's. I love my car, although I like the Euros I still think the US version is not so bad looking. I had a boxer at my house for a 2 weeks and If I had to chose I would pick the gt4. I love this car!!!

When I first got my GT4, the Euro/US bumper mod was the first thing I did.

Drilling and draining the bumper shocks, and inserting two position set screws (original stock position, and pushed in) then pushing them in netted a reduction of nearly 3" on the nose. Slightly less on the rear.

Fairly easy to do, and you can alway pull them back out for use as a picnic table.

This is how it looks today (new owners photos)...and it is available for sale again after some improvements even since I had it. 15K mile original beauty. Won't be cheap, upper 30's, but its one of the nicest you'll see anywhere. All original equipment available plus new items. Fresh major, steering rack, new wheels/tires, and X-Ost.

    John,
The car looks great; just enough mod...nicely executed.

I hadn't noticed, is the new owner on F-Chat?

:) great work, i did that with one of my 308's, but i want the euro bumpers for less weight, as much as looks. the USA bumpers are still heavy turds!

i wish it were easy to install the flimsy fiberglass bumpers, is what i should have said!

    :)

No...Sorry....that was from when I first set up the site. My apologies. It is being offered by the new owner who is moving around his collection. I used to personally own this car, and can share as many details as anyone would like. It was fantastic when I owned it, and now even better with the couple of upgrades, and the rack tightening up. Plus the current owner has added a few items (wheels, tires, exhaust), and replaced the steering rack. Fresh major.
    Its stunning.

It is available, and a really spectacular example of a GT4.

ScuderiaAutosport is my fledgling hobby, so I am assisting with the sale.

Let me know if there are any questions at all.
