I thought that sort of thing was illegal to do to humans (or is that when you ask someone to stuff them).

Wouldn't the body start to smell? I'm not sure of any treatment to control that with the exception of freezing.

partly for this reason, i think i'll go for the traditional version of a funeral,

Why would he have a last wish at that age and tell his mom If he off'ed hisself and his mother knew why did'nt she try to stop him?
This is one creepy story all around.

My guess is that he was a gangbanger and that he told his mom that if he died, it's what he wanted.

 

They probably prepped the body like they would for a cadaver used at medical schools. Cadavers can last longer then you might think.

No, nothing like prepping a body for anatomical study. When doing this the body is filled with about 20 gallons of Formalin solution. This procedure adds about 150 pounds to the body in fluid. While these bodies do last a long long long time, they are absolutely NOT presentable for public viewing...I believe that there are some physicians here that can remember the gross labs that will back me up on this fact.

Probably embalmed him like they would for anyone else then braced him with wooden rods or planks. Clothes can hide a great amount of this sort of stuff. I do this stuff for a living and would probably laugh out loud if someone told me that they wanted to have visitation for their loved one while he was standing up.

My dad sent me this article the other day and it gave me an idea. When my dad dies I'm going to have him embalmed and set up for viewing on a toilet, his favorite place.
