Qualifying Valencia - Europe ***Spoiler***

Wonder if Honda will surpise today, I have a feeling Lewis or Kimi will take pole though.

 

Fernando Alonso was handed a 10,000 euro fine and a reprimand after cutting the entrance to the pit lane during Friday’s second free practice in Valencia.

The Spaniard appeared to make a last-minute decision to enter the pits and cut across the white line dividing the track from the pit lane entrance.

Alonso admitted to his mistake and played down any suggestions that the pit lane entrance might be dangerous or confusing for the drivers.
“You have to stay on the right part of the white line,” he said.
“Today, one time, I was not.
“It was my mistake and if you stay on the right I don’t think it is a problem and it is not dangerous or anything like that.
Alonso also dismissed concerns over differences in speed when following a car that is entering the pits.
“It is maybe from the outside more difficult to look who is going into the pits than on the inside," he said.
“But when a car in front of you goes into the pits you see clearly that he brakes a little bit later and when you go to the pits you brake late.”
Alonso will not receive any sporting penalties such as grid demotions as a result of his mistake.

Hey mates. Looks like rain in Valencia! Really strange, no rain for YEARS and now basically every race weekend...

 

Ferrari starting to show some interesting times with Massa finally (due to the new tires).

 

It's not raining at the moment. Hopefully things will remain as they are seeing as Ferrari seems to be having some troubles handling wet races...

Edit-Scratch that...some drops are starting to fall.

Kimi is taking a big risk...he is 13th.

Really ironical. Schumi was THE rain god, and it was always dry. Now we're having problems in the rain, and it rains every second race...

 

RB 20th Button 12 Vettel 1.38.141 Trulli 1.37.948 fastest track is getting quicker as time goes on/

 

After yesterday, I expected Ferrari to go 1-2. Today, they're 6-8 in Q1 and Lewis and Alonso are 1-2 so far, both with faster times than Ferrari has posted this weekend.

Hopefully things will show differently in Q2...

The predictions of 1 min 37 times seem spot on.
Might even break into the 36s with more rubber down.
Pity about last nights storm.

 

Outside of the width and Telefonica ads, this track reminds me of CART. A shame about the Honda Legend.....

I'm not really feeling ferrari here ...

 

Speed channel...delayed by 10 mins or so...on the ITV player now, but Ferrari still doesn't look great at 6-7.

Edit: Massa up to P2....better, but still behind Vettel???

 

Good...Massa lapped in a good time (now 2nd). Kimi is worrying me. I can't believe he is sweating to pass to Q3.
