Looks like Ferrari will retain the championship.... with Massa.

    The Iceman is melting.

It was crazy how much they were booing Hamilton. I won't lie, I enjoyed it a bit but felt sorry for him at the same time.

    Just listening to the interviews...

Massa talking about the 2nd stop, it sounds like he wasn't told about the penalty as he blamed Sutil for not letting him pass in the pits(as he was gonna pass him on the track)... I wonder if that will weigh in for the decision...

As I've said several times before, if you don't like watching support for a British driver don't watch British commentators broadcasting to British fans on a British TV station. I don't see any Australian TV stations but I'm pretty sure they will have been rooting for your own guys at the Olympics.

James Allen and Brundle are both tossers ... they suck as does the rest of the garagisti teams

Allen was bumping his gums about the UNSAFE word so much almost like he was pleading for the stewards to give him a stop/go so their favourite bum chum could score another undeserved win ... WANKERS the lot of them

Wow, some people are going to be hurtin'. Emotionally and financially.
I'll be celebrating. Just hope Ferrari sorts out their reliability program. When asked about it Massa said that Spa is one of the races that should really suit Ferrari. I would hate to see another heartbreaking Hungary episode. At least Massa would have a fresh engine in Monza for sure. It would be a shame if Ferrari's engines blow up in front of their home crowd.
Either way, fantastic performance by Massa today. By the way, did you guys notice how crooked Hamilton was parked at the start? I am sure that he had hopes for a payback for Massa's move at the start of last race.

Hamilton is an issue with Red Lights and Lining up at the start, After he gets enough penaltys he might figure it out.

What's more interesting was Kimi's pit stop. We've seen sequential gearboxes that jump when put into gear before.

But Ferrari also needs to work the human factors on those lights. The "go" light shouldn't be one of three lights, but a big honkin' *GO* light.

And I think Kimi needs practice with coordinating lights with "go". He got smoked off the line by Heikki -- which was pretty much the end of his podium hopes.

Of course, with the Massa/Sutil near miss, that may be the end of the lights system, if FIA decides to put the blame there.
(Curious that the Massa incident is being investigated for being "unsafe", but we didn't hear a similar announcement for Kimi's stop where someone got hurt.)

Notice that Kimi's engine expired almost directly across from his pit stall? (Karma?)

Before everyone gets cranked up about Ferrari engine failures, remember: There are *six* Ferrari engines on the grid.
(But all of 'em have McLaren ECUs. Hmm. ;))

    But ....... grid *boys*???
    The times are a'changin'.
    Dangit. :p

Lol, Keke Rosberg on TV: "I always have to smile when I hear the engineers telling the drivers to keep pushing and to try to overtake. In our time, when we heard things like that, we pulled the earphone out and said 'radio problem, radio problem'" :D

I wonder if anyone has thought of this. Certainly, SPEED's announcers didn't:

If it was a suspect crankshaft that caused Massa's engine to blow in Hungary, then Kimi's engine would have had a suspect crankshaft as well. The team obviously had to realize that they had a choice before Valencia: change Kimi's engine and take a 10-spot grid penalty (harsh on a street circuit), or leave the suspect engine in the car and keep their fingers crossed.

This might explain Kimi's somewhat leisurely pace during the race: they were trying to save the engine. Whether the problem on his last pit stop had anything to do with the subsequent blow-up will probably never be known. And the team will be second-guessed for not changing the engine before the race. A 10-spot penalty would have killed his chances of winning, but at least he might have finished in the points.....

Again a strange appearance of Hamilton... two German TV reporters talking, Lewis walks by, one of the reporters asks him how the race was, Lewis brushs him off, keeps walking, reporter calls "We're live!", Lewis immediately stops, smiles into the camera and answers the question... really seems as if he switches on the nice guy as soon as a camera is running...

Ian you dont seem to understand. When you are at that level of professionalism you are supposed to give your unbiased view at the sport that you are commentating on.On the olympics side of your response, the australian commentators that were calling Michael Phelps race were ecstatic on his win and his world records because they appreciated the rare talent of the guy.Unfortunately we only get the ITV coverage down here and its better than nothing

LOVE IT !!! it should be most interesting to see how the Ferrari's will fare at Mosport. Jaime got the pole for the #62. Unfortunately the #61 isn't running this race, however, both Tafel 430's are in the event. GT2 battle will be a good one with #62 on pole with the Farnbacher Loles Porsche second, as I recall a Tafel Ferrari 3th, Lizards 4 & 5....

    Massa reprimanded but keeps victory

Felipe Massa has been reprimanded and fined by the European Grand Prix stewards, but the Ferrari driver has kept his victory at Valencia.

Massa's victory was in doubt after the stewards said they would investigate a pitlane incident after the race.

The Brazilian nearly crashed with Force India's Adrian Sutil when joining the pitlane following his pitstop and the stewards deemed his release had been dangerous.

As a result of the incident Massa has been reprimanded and Ferrari fined 10,000 Euro.

(fits what I posted earlier - it was the team at fault and should so be fined and not the driver)
