Didn't the majority of GTOs have hand crank windows? I like that better, and wish my 308 did not have PW!

No, most had power windows, although I must confess a GTO with PW & AC delete would be pretty cool given the spirit in which the car was created...

Well, either it was another GTO or someone else was taking the car out for a spin.

when the GTO was put in the market, one of the best confrontation was with the 959 Porsche, there was also the beautiful
    Mercedes 190 Evo.

10 units of 959 in one time must to be nice to see.

    The Gto was in 1984.

    The 959 was in 1987 and 1988...........................

FERRARI response to the 959 was the F40.

    For sur your right.
But i prefer to see a comparaison with 959/GTO. because GTO means the supreme by Ferrari...always.
Comparative style/engine/use, the f40 was made much more for the circuit and memory/testament car by Ferrari.

Nevertheless the car was not consigned until 86, the The first appearance of the proyect C20,
or Porsche 959 was ' presented oficially in Frankfurt's Motor Show of October 1983.
To define 288 GTO as the antagnist of 959 can be , in my modest opinion prefectly correct.
Both vehicles in addition were thought to compete in the Group B.

While the 959 was (and is) a true technological marvel and a very significant car, I suspect there are very few people who would consider it timelessly beautiful…which is something the 288 GTO will always be.

    We think the same thing.
Though I admit it I am not too impartial in my affirmations.
I am too much FAN and LOVER of the GTO.

Each is gorgeous for what it is, one the pinnacle of the Teutonic 911 line, the other the pinnacle of the passionate 308 line.
