It would explain the sudden drop in performance by Kimi and Alonso.

Guess that's good news for Hamilton: A demotivated Raikkoenen will not drive for Massa in the WDC and rather steal away some points or go for his own chance at a victory.

Anyway, I can't wait to see Alonso/Vettel at Ferrari!

Given Kimis current performance, he isn't a threat to anyone... Kubica or Kovalinen maybe, but not even in the same league as Massa and Hamilton. Hell, Rubens was a better #2 driver than Kimi is at the moment...

+1 on Vettel, though I suppose (and hope) his way will lead him to Ferrari sooner or later. Schumacher said in an interview he's talking to him on the phone quite often, and Vettels performance at Valencia was fantastic. One of the worst cars in the grid and #1 in second quali, chapeau!

How about you convince Lewis to jump ship? That would be something to see...then Alonso can go annoy another team. Will really grate with me if Alonso does move to Ferrari. A Hamilton/Massa or Hamilton/Vettel combination would be fantastic.

I'm neutral in the sense that I'm not chauvinistic and I think that is a very good thing. That's also why I would never join a political party or why I have the audacity to criticize Ferrari's drivers.

Where Hamilton comes from has nothing to do with people's dislike for him. Its more about the attitude changes he has shown, and the team for which he drives. This is a Ferrari chat site in case you have not noticed. So I find your comments about "your countrymen" to be really ridiculous.

Instead trying to convince other people to like someone they don't, maybe you should try and make LH to see the light, the red one before he rears someone else.

makes sense. I've noticed that too that MS has been in the pits and all of a sudden Massa is killing it. Could be a coincidence but I think Ferrari have basically decided to back Massa this year and are giving Kimi the boot come next season. I really want to see Hamilton in a ferrari but I know it'll never happen, at least for 3 years. Keep in mind Mclaren are pretty hell bent on lewis winning the wdc, and if that doesn't happen they could bail on him as well.

 

Sounds like a likely scenario to me. I really wish someone would light a fire under Kimi. What's the matter, the prestige of being in the most desirable position in the entire motorsports world (in the entire WORLD, bar none to me!) plus Exxon tanker fulls of money doesn't excite you Kimi???!!!

There's a difference between chauvinism and patriotism and supporting your own country's driver(s) is definitely in the latter category rather than the former. The US is held to be a particularly patriotic country and it would be very interesting to see how much support Americans would give to 'foreign' teams and drivers if there was an American team with American drivers competing at the top in F1.

The problem with supporting a driver because of his personality is that nowadays, as is the case with most 'celebrities', we largely see the image that the driver wants us to see, which might be very different from the real person. We get little bits of information that help, like those contained in the "check out who I met yesterday" thread, but on the whole, unless we're on the inside, we can probably never be certain what a driver is really like.

 

my two cents worth........................ From now on Ferrari back Massa....................Massa wins the drivers title...................Kimi retires at the end of the year.................. Alonso joins Ferrari for 2009

 

The only problem with this theory is the notion of Alonso paired with either Massa or Vettel. Alonso does not work and play well with teammates who can challenge for wins.

Or, for that matter, any teammates. (Remember Alonso's comments about his teammate "not supporting him" right after Fisi tanked his own Turkish GP to avoid tagging Alonso's car?)

If Ferrari hired Alonso, they'd likely have a much harder time attracting Vettel. Who would *want* to team with Alonso, these days?

I'd only expect to see Alonso in a Ferrari if they wanted to give the other seat to Michelle Yeoh.
