Now THAT is cool! If I could get one in red and they were sold in the US, I'd do the exact same thing next to my F430.

    LOVE the WHEELS.

This is the awesome Fiat 500!

It's an awesome car as I reckon it stole the limelight from everyone (including Ferrari... :p) Well, I order the little Fiat in May and today I rushed over to the dealer and took delivery. I added the side sticker, italian flag, red "10" on the bonnet and painted the rims WHITE!!!

I feel soooo GAY (not that there is anything wrong with that)!!!

Ferrari GB have commissioned a limited run of bespoke 500's for their dealer network to use as service loan cars for a bit of fun :D They're based on the 1.4 sport version, painted in Ferrari Rosso Corsa and have a performance exhaust, red stitching on sterring wheel and gear lever gaiter, aluminium pedals, red brake calipers, 16-inch wheels, and a few tuning modifications. My dealer apparently has four of them but I've not stopped by for a look as yet.

That is a gorgeous Bianco Fuji spider!!!!!!!

The 500 is one cool little car. Makes me think of the movie "Cars" whenever I see it.

Just goes to show....we'd all love a spiffy/sporty little good-mileage car, but most the stuff out there is stripped-down boring stuff. Big cars are heavy and cost a lot in both performance and mpg....but small cars can be light, perform well and can have really nice lines as well. It doesn't cost anything in mpg to have great lines and stunning looks....we really need more snazzy little cars like this.

    Very nice! Enjoy!! :D

Thanks guys and great to know that there are followers of the 500 in the US as well!

My 500 is one of the first batch and honestly it's very very cool car... I have little kids to georgeous gals pointing at my car (unfortunatley not me)...

I will keep her til the Abarth is ready to come to HK... until then, I will put on my pastel blue polo shirt, white jeans, brown suede shoes... and jive down the sunset... :p

They are a lot of fun to drive. The interior feels a lot bigger than it looks from the outside due to the height of the car and the distance the front screen is away from the front seat occupants. Four adults can fit in the car for short to medium journeys in relative comfort. The handling is like classic small Fiats of old - rev the engine hard to make surprisingly swift progress and enjoy a bit of body roll to add to the sensation of speed. It's updated with modern safety aids and ESP is an option. The fun factor is that you can drive these little cars fairly hard and have fun near the limit more of the time without hitting the sort of high speeds you have to in other modern cars. Having said that I nearly got a ticket for doing 3 figure speeds in mine on a motorway :D It actually feels very smooth and fairly quiet at high speed on well surfaced roads and you have to watch how swiftly you are travelling. Mine has the 100bhp 1.4 litre petrol engine but the 1.2 petrol and 1.3 multijet diesel are more popular here due to fuel prices and the fact that both cost only £35 a year for their road fund licence based upon engine emissions as opposed to the £130 my 1.4 costs. The great thing about them is that like the MINI you can personalise the car with the added benefit that it is 2/3rds the price of the MINI or less.

My mum has a BMW 335i coupe but was so impressed with my little nuova 500 that she bought one for herself as a little run around. It's finished like the Geneva 08 show car was in a retro looking colour combo with a modern twist.

It seems like a Mini rival full stop then. I saw 2 or 3 of them about when i was last in London, and they do appear to be better looking in the flesh.

cheers on the write up, i'll be sure to have a look at one for when I return... May be a good idea, since my only car is the 355, unless I borrow her Maser GT which is no better on fuel, or parking....

funny how they call it the "new 500" when its actually 1200-1400 cc... :)
