To keep this objectively subjective please do NOT vote if you own (or owned) either a CS or a Scuderia. This is to keep a predisposition/predilection/bias OUT of the voting process. "Beauty" can mean different things to different people -- pretty / mean / aggressive / nasty / effeminate etc. Chose the car that you simply like the look of best, whether it's because you find it prettier, or more aggressive etc. Ignore performance/technology differences. Make your decison based on looks only. NOTE: This is a PUBLIC poll. People's votes will be visible to all.
I try Kuzi, are you really going to get your *third* CS ? My vote is for black since you've had yellow and red.
I am and sorry you know me and "red" ..........I now know how special it really is. Bare in mind..........the Scuderia is "special" as well. But I do think the CS is more purposeful and serves its one purpose.........which is a street car made for the track..............very very well. The Scuderia is in a class by itself. Anyone who hasn't driven one and tries to give an opinion about it (other then its esthetics)..........well I'm sorry, they don't know what they are talking about. I hesitate to say. But IMO it is up there with the other hypercars inspite of what everyone spiels in this site or others. Its THAT good!
Out of town this weekend. Need it. And hell you don't need me to take you for a spin............you can drive it.
I can understand that. Hope you get some much needed R&R You're a good man Charlie Brown. But I tend to be very cautious when driving another man's wheels. Prolly have more fun with someone willing to pick it up by the scruff of the neck and show it who's boss!! LOL I recall driving Michael's SLR and barely getting past 15% of throttle input. I've nicknamed that thing "Satan's Chariot".
Kuzi has a "revolving garage door policy". That policy has allowed 2 in and 2 out so far --- with another CS inbound soon...
Too early to draw any conclusions yet as to whether consensus is Scuderia or CS, but what has unequivocally been revealed is that CS owners aren't very good at following directions ROFLMAO -- you guys crack me up!
Unfortunately, I think your poll is flawed for a variety of reasons. For example, some CS owners have already voted, thereby violating your initial conditions. Moreover, it might not be correct to exclude the CS owners because their "taste" preferences have been exercised by putting money where their mouth is, versus many others who just speculate what they might do if they had the money. And then, many of us have yet to see a Scuderia in the flesh whereas I suspect a large majority have seen a CS. Better wording would have been: IF the cost to buy a CS and Scuderia was exactly the same, and IF the performance of a CS and Scuderia was exactly the same, which would you prefer to own on the basis of physical looks alone? Phrasing it thus, or in some similar fashion, would further help contril for influences that likely creep in and distort results otherwise.
For sheer looks I would vote (but I cannot) Scuderia. I loved the CS in 04 but I have moved on - CS is not part of my "permanent" collection and I doubt the Scuderia will be either (Scuderia Spider might well be and I have one coming). Of course both the CS and the Scuderia pale compared with the 288 GTO
Did I read that correctly? You said you are getting a Scuderia Spider? How do you go about doing that?
Really hard, so I put it in perspective, if I was at a model store, and they had a model of a CS and Scuderia, for the same price, in the same color, and in the same scale, which would I pick, I picked the Scuderia.
Here is my impression and I've been thinking about this for awhile. The funny thing is that 348 guys think their cars are better looking than the 355 and the 355 guys think they're on crack. The 355 guys are convinced their cars are better looking than the 360 base and the 360 guys think they're on crack. The F430 guys just spent 250k on a car and they're lookin around thinkin' to themselves in response to the "haters", "wtf is wrong with the way my car looks? Looks good to me... " I think they all have a valid point in their opinion because it is all a matter of perspective and what design characteristics you perceive should go into making a car look "attractive." The 355 is essentially a 348 with a "bodykit." The 348 guys think the 355 "bodykit" is too "feminine" (you know who you are , where the smooth and soft round edges in the changes, take away from the "raw" look of the straight, sharp, and distinct lines of the 348. Although, the 355 did soften up its edges, the 80's "cheese cutter" look was removed, helping Ferrari transition into a new era of design. The 355 has a pretty decent balance of smooth/soft curves and straight/distinct lines. My personal beef with the 355 is with the front bumper. I feel its a bit too bubbly for the rest of the car. A gentleman on the "other" poll made an interesting point where he felt the 355 looked better than the 360 in "red." I feel the same. The rossa corsa is a straight forward color with no pearl effect. The tight design of the 355, meaning there are distinct lines or mathematical curves not too far away from each other, gives the Rosso Corsa this Red and black or Red and Dark Red (shadow) visual effect. The shadows bring out the details making the color or the car less boring to look at. I think that's what it is . Those that argue in favor of the 355 clearly feel the car has a tighter design , giving it a sense of rich detail, which they feel is more "Ferrari." A nostalgic sentiment similar to those found in admirers of 288GTO. The 360 modena introduces itself as the "smooth" Ferrari. More emphasis on curves. You can argue that it is less "detailed" than the 355. It's easier to draw a 360 than it is to draw a 355 in my opinion. The 355 is small, lean, and cut whereas the 360 is just... "big"... and curvy. I think people choose the 360 over the 355 based on size and a few updated appearance features such as non-flip up lights and being able to see the engine... etcc... The CS visually, is essentially a 360 with a "bodykit." Fortunately, its a "just about right" kit. Not too soft, not too aggressive... giving it a sense of "class" and "sportiness".... whatever that means . I do feel the "bodykit" does accentuate the soft and curvy look of the Modena, with a more hard edged and cut appearance. I used the word "accentuate" because it doesn't transform the Modena into something else... it just makes it slightly more aggressive. When I first saw pics or drawings of the f430, I said to myself, "Alright, I see what they did here. They fixed the appearance flaws of the 360." That was my initial impression. Although the 430 is sort of like a 360 base, they aimed to give it so much detail, that they look like two totally different cars. Maybe they were trying to go back to that sense of tightness and detail found in the 355. Whatever their intentions, the 430 certainly gave me the impression that it was a "tighter" Modena. Less bubbly looking. Sharper lines and edges. Smaller and more refined headlights and taillights.... etc. Obviously, they felt they "improved" the looks... or else no one would buy it. It looked good from the pics I saw. I believe they're drawings? I could be wrong but here's a sample. http://www.racingdentist.com/images/Ferrari%20430.bmp However, when you start looking at "real" pics of the car... you get the feeling that something is just not right. It could be the stance of the car. Seems to sit higher than the 360 or seems to look more "humpback." The "flow" of the design was "off" to my eyes. Especially the sideskirts. The car started to look more like a weapon than a car. Now you start to notice the size of the lights and the positioning of the lights. It takes time to adjust. I always felt the lights, both front and rear, on the modena were a bit too big... especially the front. Its the little things that make you wonder ... hmmmmmmmmmm. Visually, the Scud is an F430 with a "bodykit." Only this time... not too appealing to many. I love the rear bumper and new look of the rear. I'll admit there's a bit going on there, but its all good. It gives the car that hi tech, super car look. All business and no show look. The "come and get some" look. As if it had racing blood in its veins. Its bold... its ballsy.... I love it. However, the sideskirts are still "off" and the front bumper has got to go. I'm sorry but that front bumper is some ricer shtt and does not flow with the car at all. Looks like something you would see on a riced out Celica and just because its on a $350k Ferrari doesnt make it any better. Definitely, junior designer status on the front bumper. I think that's what most Ferrari owners cant stand about the Scud. The lil things that f*ck with your mind and that's unacceptable for a 350k car. Performance wise... hands down impressive and a huge value to those dishing out the $$$. But this is a discussion about looks. All in all... I would take a Scud over a CS with a different front bumper, better sideskirts, and better stance. If I have to live with that front bumper.... f*ck that... gimme the CS . And dont give me BS about function. Ken
too late not to vote... I have a scuderia coming in october, but my heart somehow finds the CS more aggressive and "raw"
CS.....It is not more aggressive in looks..........but it is more raw as far as performance. The Scud is more "refined". The front end of the 430Scuderia looks like a "riced out Celica"???.........I think NOT. Image Unavailable, Please Login
