This movie has one of the most riveting chase scenes from the 80's driving down the LA freeway the wrong way (not in a 308.) One small correction is from recollection, the 308 of Willem DaFoe is left hand drive. Remember at the end of the movie where Jane Leeves (the future "maid" Daphne on Frasier) drives off in the 308 after the hot female dancer gets into the passenger side of the car? She shows some very perky breasts during one scene in the movie, as well as some interesting lingerie as well...oh right, this thread is about 308's! But if you haven't seen this movie recently, I highly recommend renting it or buying it as it is a classic IMHO.

The movie where Will Smith is a down & out salesman who gets an internship at a stock brokers office and goes on to be a success, called The Pursuit of Happiness (I thinK). Quick shot of a red 308 infront of an office building.

After Richard Pryor pinched a load of money from Lex Luthur in "Superman" (can't recall which one)..... did he not turn up at work in a 308 bought from his ill-gotten gains???

Couldn't see it on the list.

In regards to "The Hidden" If you watch the 308 destruction closely- you will see it is not one car- I think (hope) the car that gets destroyed is a very rough example

I just saw a movie from the 80's called Masquerade with Tom Cruise and his wife buys him a 308 towards the end of the movie. The model they show is a 2v fuel injected model but the sounds it makes are definately that of a carb car.

Scares the crap out of me that he has a dog on the passenger seat -- no quicker way to ruin the seat leather. :(

Its mentioned in posts 13 & 34. Its Rob Lowe, not Tom Cruise and the 308 has a few good scenes including an action one. When his wife buys him the car for a present its filmed from above and sounds great. Kim Cattrall gets naked too. Much better than any old 308.

The Hidden is the best 308 scene!

...was in a TV movie about Enron. It was the car of one of the corporate secretaries known as "Miss September". There were a couple of scenes where she was talking to someone standing in front of the car, and then stepped in and drove off - not fleeting scenes at all (also couldn't have been easy in the heels she was wearing!). I just wish I had saved this on video tape (it was pre-Tivo days).

I had sold the car to a guy in Winnipeg (where the movie was made) and he had a friend who wrangled cars for movies made up there (apparently there's quite a thriving movie industry in Winnipeg!). The 308 and his Boxster were both used in the movie.

This one surprised even me... especially since it is a movie I have seen many times over. I am referring to "Mask", a great movie from 1985 featuring Cher and Eric Stoltz. Again, I have seen this over and over and this time I just happened to catch this...

About a half-hour into the movie, "Rocky" is in sitting on the back of his desk telling his history class the story of the Trojan horse. If you watch the bottom left window pane carefully, you can see a red 308 with Boxer trim pass by from right to left. I struggled a bit with the idea of it actually being a Boxer, but my "freeze-frame" seemed to show the side ducts and a non-painted windshield frame - so I'm going with 308.

    Ok, how obscure is that?!?!

That Magnum episode you saw is the first one "Don't eat the snow in Hawaii" I have it on DVD and was watching it the other night and I was thinking as I'm watching the challenger Chase the 308 that 28 years later that Challenger, if it was in mint condition, is worth close to the value of the 308 or if equipped with a Hemi it would be worth substationally more!

*Sigh*... the things I find myself spending time on... anyway, I was kickin' around on "YouTube" and happened on the opening sequence of "Hardcastle & McCormick" (remember that one?). They drive this awful kit car dubbed the "Coyote". As the sequence opens they clearly focus in on a 308 tach and then show the gateshifter no doubt from the same Ferrari. If you stick with it long enough, they show another shift clip... again the same console.

New movie that came out recently -- called "The Foot Fist Way".

The main character, a Tae Kwon Do instructor drives a 308 GTS QV. Red/Tan interior.

Even for a movie, the guy exhibited the Ferrari Spirit...

"Give me a reason why I should sell it to you. I'm not just going to give it over to the first guy with money. Convince me that you should have this car."

I smiled... its a Comedy, but I think he captured the true spirit of the car.

Not to be a total thread killer.. but here's the site you guys want. :)

I remember that show. I used to watch the opening sequence just to watch the tach and see the gear change. I always thought it was odd that they showed a 308 interior, but the exterior was a kit car.

    Best regards,
    Dino

I just caught the end of an older movie -- Meteor Man

And what do I see? A GTS, and a 308 GT4 in the last scene.
Hrmm.. for bad guys.. they seem to have good taste in cars.

You're right. The vent across the hood (but not behind the headlights) is another tip-off:

308 carbureted and two-valve injected cars: Vents behind the headlights
308 QV: Vents behind headlights, plus narrow vent across hood
328: Wider vent across hood only

(Useful for spotting those "stunt doubles," as well as for easily identifying which "Magnum" episodes are earlier or later.)

Stupid show, but worth watching for the car. I also love the way the dad kept saying "Feh - raaaaaw - di."
