I'm curious as to when the successor to the 430 is scheduled to be announced then to become available.

the search funtion is your friend. but to save you some time.....the 5 year cycle of the F430 is coming to an end in 2009, launched as a 2005 model with some early deliveries in late 2004, we should see some finished pics of the successor, this time next year. thus the reason the 430 Scuderia will have a production run of 2008 and 2009. there has been a mule running around in a 360 Modena body, 430 Scuderia rims, blacked out engine bay and a unique center exhaust. if you don't find it here, you can find on worldcarfans.com

The new car should be on the streets Sept 2009. Looks like starting price will be $300K.

Price came from a few of areas. FNA had already "unofficially" mentioned a starting price in the $275K range. From past history the 430 was priced within $10K of the out going 360 CS. When the Scud is discontinued the last price will be north of $300K. Also the new California GT will be the entry level Ferrari.

sorry Dreamcatcher, that isn't the 430 successor, regardless of Autobild claiming it to be. it indeed is a coachbuilt for a wealthy client!.....

and yes, Ferrari history has indicated that the new successor will be in the range of the outgoing 430 Scuderia. for many the Scud seemed to be a big jump from the normal F430 but in usual tradition, the factory tests the market (or should i say lets the market get used to the pricing) so that the new model doesn't appear to have a drastic price increase.

there's something strange with the front wheel well. or maybe it's just the angle of the shot. whatever it is , it looks like it's being run hard. when you zoom on the front air scoops it looks like it has some stuff in it, like leaves and such, and also the test gear on the side of the car. very interesting photo.

Remember the 348 Enzo test mule from a few years ago
This may be a mule for the Enzo replacement.

I predict a 12 cylinder replacement for the F430 maybe called F550. A Gallardo fighter

Also did you notice the wheels on your picture? Rear deferent than front.

Yeah I noticed that and it also looks like the taillight sticks out further then it would on a regular 430

I just hope that Ferrari does not see this as yet another opportunity to introduce a "new design language" or pillage the back catalog for design queus, which has been their recent practice. They should come up with something fresh, extremely attractive and powerful looking to reflect the great mechanicals. Something that stands on its own.

I guess we will just have to hope for the best and hold our breath.

I see that they are using what looks to be the 599GTB rear lights...I wonder how they will integrate this into the new F70?...

I'm sure Ferrari has some "mole" working on what will be in the market within the next 5-10 years (what car company doesnt look ahead?...)

Like the Enzo today, at first when introduced, was "odd"...to me it was...but when seen/heard in person, It'll draw you in like a moth to light. All I can say is, is that they better make the new F70 kick-ass like the FXX....(unless they have plans for a one-off "F71" FOR TRACK USE lol!
