The 2.0 litre GT4 are all Euro models so that helps a bit..

If I am not mistaken, the 208 engine was the smallest production V8 ever...

What would intrigue me more than picking the worst Ferrari is to see what our talented group could dream up in three, different types of THE Ferrari car.

Could be a new thread, but if one could pick the best aspects of Ferrari in racers, two seats, four-seat-grey-poupon-types [:)], money-is-no-object, scenarios, and design those vehicles, I wonder what animal would evolve from the committee here?

MK_E's latest [as many have almost done, but MK_E certainly take the current cake] delve into 12 cylinder madness :) and a few others who draw, race design, fabricate etc. I wonder what perfect, The Ferrari Car would be created?

That would be a Fchat challenge: create the vision...I'm thinking beaten metal, road feeling, machine where it would be timeless...and in the spirit of PF and Ferrari. BUILD it....and evolve it.

Perhaps an opposite take, but finding things wrong, doesn't explain the right things. IF you want to talk the right things, then let us put those things/truths into reality and see what walks.

That reminds me of that "Simpsons" episode where Homer helps his long lost brother design a car dubbed "The Homer"

My opinion its the Testarossa due to the era it was in made it the worst ferrari by default. It looked great but it was like the Mustang 5.Slow of Supercars. The F512TR made up for it however it came out a little to late by then the competetion was already doing 200mph. :D.

I would have said the 308 but that was in the 70's and well things weren't exactly great in the 70's. :D.

oh, ya' I remember that one: would hate to think out 'committee' would be the equivalent of Homer Simpson.

    sigh, probably not.

    "Slow of Supercars". WTF?

    to quote fastestcar.com:

"The Ferrari Testarossa leaped to center stage of the automotive world in 1984 and remained there for 11 years as the world's fastest regular production car. It was the definition of "supercar" in its era, the innovative benchmark against which all contemporary sports cars were measured."

over 180mph in 1984? pretty damn fast.

I like the looks and driving the 348. When I was looking, my kids were trying to have me get a 355 or 360. I wanted something more classic looking, the straker scream 80's/ early 90's look. Beside, I already had a more modern rounded sports car, why would I want another in my garage.

348 does not belong close to this List Of Doom.
My old 308GTSi Choptop however may appear somewhere.
Not for the chop ( it did look Shweeet if I must say ), but for the 10 mpg and low performance for that consumption.

It was my first Ferrari and I did love it so. Just couldnt feed it as an hourly.

The world was in love with the Testarossa when it appeared. And for quite awhile. It will always be an epic Ferrari.

The best Ferrari for the money today hands down.

Not that i could afford a new 430 but i wouldn't take one over my 1980 308 gtsi.

The 308 is just too beautiful.

the article stats "the worst ferrari ever built" i think there's a difference about worst built (quality of assembly) and worse made (concept to design to production)

    IMHO.

    Let's play Jeopardy!

The question is: What were the two hugely successful iconic models that catapulted Ferrari from a struggling carmaker to a financially viable company?

What is "worst"? Are we talking about aesthetics (subjective), reliability, performance, drivability or a combination of these and perhaps other characteristics?

I'm also in the "least best" camp. For example I think the 348 is right up there for blandness of design but that really is only by Ferrari standards because they are still a killer looking car with tons of presence in the flesh.

Ferrari was building cars that could approach and even exceed 200 mph in the late 50's and early 60's. The 410 Super America is just such a car. Cars you could walk into a dealer and drive home. But high speed cars dont make your company look too good when idiot drivers start splattering them all over the road as some have done with Enzo's. Ferrari has been wise to keep just below the upper limit other manufactures wander toward. Let them make the mistakes.

Are any of the 348 critiques applicable to the 3.4 Mondial t? Seems the Mondial t did better in this poll than the 348 despite coming out at the same time with the same 3.4 V8.
