Congrats. She is a true beauty. Enjoy in good health.
ah hem (cough, cough) your down to only one of those problem's now!!! btw Joe's CS is absolutely beautiful in person...truly AMAZING!
Guys, sorry for the delay but, for the first time in my Ferrari ownership history, I enjoy driving this car too much to stop and take pictures! Anyhow, here are some more, including my pregnant wife and Jake (the Yellow Lab) who are sick of me never being home these days...why? Because I am driving this car at every opportunity. It is leaps and bounds above my 430, from a raw excitement standpoint and beauty....again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I love it!! Some of those pictures are great. They really show off the amazing lines of the cs. Real good job and congrats!
Joe, That's an awesome car! I was suprised to hear that you said it's leaps and bounds above the 430, when just a few months ago, you said how much the 430 made the 360 obsolete. I guess the CS is what Ferrari should be. How does the difference in Power Feel between the 430 and CS, and 360? Is the CS almost as quick as the 430, or is it just a little quicker than a 360? Thanks, Jim
Hey Jim. Hope you are doing well! Don't get me wrong; the 430 is an unreal car. It truly made the 360 seem like the technology and fit of the car had been increased tenfold. However, I always felt there was something missing in the ride. Not something I felt I had experienced with any of the 360s (spider or coupe). It wasn't until driving the CS that I realized that for MY SPECIFIC FERRARI EXPERIENCE, I needed a more raw, invigorating, make-me-feel-like-a-F1-race-driver feel. The CS is THAT good. For me, I drive a Ferrari so infrequent compared to my weekly driving - never to work because of a highly trafficed route and mostly weekends. So, when driving the 430, it was exciting but it lacked that special flare that the CS provides. The feeling of driving soo low to the ground, with no carpets and surrounded by carbon fiber. The lack of added and unnecessary options. The pure feeling of hearing that race car sound when the RACE button is depressed and you have the rpms above 5000. Instant power in different "bottle" than the 430. As far as whether the 430 is "faster" or "slower" than the CS, I will let the experts weigh in on it. In watching the Top Gear episode where they first tested the 430, the Stig actually did a better track time in the CS than the 430, so that would seem to indicate the CS is faster. To me as the amateur, the CS feels faster from a pure driving experience. It just begs you to drive it!! Joe
LOL @ the pics of your wife and dog. Neither look none to happy. Your dog looks like he's saying, "Put down the damn camera and throw me a ball already!" Love your classic truck! Very cool!
I gotta tell you. I love the new SL. The body lines are very aggressive and the car is built really well. I was pleasantly surprised that the performance is excellent too. No need for the SL63. The 550 slugs enough power at you and the tiptronic feature is excellent. The convertible top is also a very nice feature. I like the fact that it is a hard top convertible, because it leads to no interior sound. With the top down, the car is a dream to drive. Very impressed for $100K car!
Wife AND Jake were both in the "where have you been lately" mode....you nailed it! The truck is a fun ride. 1930 Model A. All original, including the oak frame! Can you believe they used to use wood for the frame?!!? Insane.
Joe, Thanks for the insight. I guess the CS is kind of like a modern F40. I think the one thing that turns me from newer Ferraris is the plushness of them, as I am attracted to the stripped down race prep versions of their newer models more. That rawness is what does it for me also. Drive it in good health Joe! Jim
That's one of the big reasons I find really old trucks so great. The attention to detail was really crazy, even though it's so simple and it was around during really simple times.
