Anyone subscribing to Ferrari's new official magazine?
    looks like a nice magazine.
    BUT
When i saw the $300+/year subscription rate for only 4 issues, i nearly choked, but then i read this:

" The fourth issue each year, published in December, will be extended to 280 pages and will replace the traditional Ferrari Yearbook published throughout its history by the Prancing Horse for its friends and collaborations. "

still, the yearbook is, say $150. (thats high) So $150+ for 3 issues... thats $50+ per "regular" 180-page issue. Better. Not good... but better.

I have loved these yearbooks... the past couple of decades have been marvels of print design. I only hope they continue to be, regardless of being "the 4th issue".

The initial issue will be sent to all Ferrari owners.. (i guess after that you have to subscribe) so let us know how the quality of the mag is.

    all the info is here:

As the owner of a vintage Ferrari which I neither purchased from nor have serviced by an authorized dealer, how will they know who/where I am? I am registered with the Ferrari owners' web site, but I don't think I gave them any contact information. Do they use DMV registration information?

    Thanks.

I recently updated my info with FNA, just for grins, they wanted Proof of Insurance as evidence of ownership, you could try that..

I'm not holding my breath on this new publication, however...but you never know, I'll either never receive it, or get three copies!

That's how Rossa Ferrari would go.....LOL!

I am in the same situation as you Jack, not really much business at the local dealership.....

You guys are missing probably the best Ferrari book. La Scuderia Ferrari by Orsini & Zagari (English Translation by Doug Nye).

I have a copy and might be willing to part with it.

Excellent book, but it only covers Enzo's pre-war Alfa Romeo days. So not strictly a 'Ferrari' book?

I have received my copy of Red Cars. There is a copy of The Red Book available. Can someone enlighten me as to the content and approximate value of this book? I don't know a lot about it.

I also collect books on Porsche and have just ordered volumes 1 (out of print) and 2 of Grand Tourisme, a history of Porsche GT racing. There are only 911 copies of each volume, including a still-to-be-published third volume.

    And what do you think?
The Red Book is like an updated version of 'le briglie'. Concentrates more on Ferrari than does 'Piloti che Gente'. Chapters are about; Ferrari pre-war, the factory, the drivers, famous people with Ferraris, women and cars (Enzo's two favourite subjects) and Fiorano. Present price seems to be $1000 - $1500 depending on who's selling one.

The top photo is the F50 Press Pack. It should have a pack of 11 transparencies in the inside back-cover flap.

no, YOU I'll just "trade" with! LOL!

No link to post, I was talking with my neighbor, (Yuliya and husband are here) she seems to have 'trouble' receiving the one that was posted 'For Sale' in this thread!

I was just noting it must be a different "Edition" as the two, both hard and soft covers I purchased (comtemporary to the event) have identical black binders with a partial shot of a yellow (Dino?) car on the cover, that white cover George posted just looked "odd" to me...

I recall buying that book in a store caused a huge row at the time with my first wife, buying the yellow Ferrari five years later sealed the Divorce....

Anyway back to your query let me find them both and be glad for you to have one...I don't own a digital camera.

I knew something had to be missing. The 11 Transparencies are not there. I noticed the Cover Flap and was curious about what was supposed to be there. Without those, It must be worth nothing. Who cares. I am going to keep it anyways.

    Thanks for the info piloti.

:eek:In the lastest Ferrari Market Letter a copy of Marcel Massini's much reverred, but by his own admission a little dated, 250 LM book is available for $1,350

I thought I overpaid for mine at $200 a couple of years ago.

A huge row over you buying a BOOK?! That ain't right.. Thanks for letting me know, George was kind enough to send me a note, he's been having some personal issues and hopefully I should have the book soon.

Here's what I have on the different editions. What Alan is describing is L'Idea Ferrari, soft cover, 261 pages by Gianni Rogliatti, Sergio Pininfarina, Valerio Moretti, published by Ferrari to commemorate the 1990 L'Idea Ferrari Exhibition in Florence, with Italian text (first picture) (see e.g listing at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150290957451&category=378&_trksid=p4340.m183&_trkparms=algo%3DSI%26its%3DI%252BC%252BS%252BIA%26itu%3DCRS%252BPSS%252BUCC%252BUCI%252BUS-BWR%252BIT%252BSI%26otn%3D1%26ps%3D33).

The second picture is for 1994 L'Idea Ferrari in Berlin, hard cover, for the exhibition of the Kunstgewerbemuseums in the Neuen Nationalgalerie Staatliche Museen zu Berlin 17 maggio - 31 luglio 1994 (Ferrari publication no. 37 for German-language book, no. 38 for English for 1994).

There is also an English edition of "L'Idea Ferrari" published in June 1990 by Gruppo Editoriale Fabbri of Milan, number 602/90, covering "The Ferrari Idea" exhibition in Florence in 1990, 262 pages (third picture). Where I get confused is Mitorosso describes a 1990 L'Idea Ferrari book (Ferrari publicaiton No. 18 in 1990) with hard white cover, I am not sure whether this is the English-language one.
