My 94' 348 has been great so far, here is the latest issue, ac is staying on, I try to turn it off nothing, no lights are on for the fan gage, heater, the buttons don't light up. can it just be a fuse?

Hmmmm, that is very strange. :):)

I would disconnect the plug from the back of the climate control unit and see what that does. :):)

Spray some stabliant 22 on the connector while you are at it. ;);)

my car has the same problem. I have not yet found a solution, so I simply removed the hidden fuse to stop the fan. Who needs A/C anyways? ;)

let us know how you fix it.

May be that either the "On" button is stuck against the side of the plastic or the "Off" button isn't working... have you double-checked that the buttons can move freely?

I had a similar problem, but a minor adjustment on the plastic around the buttons, and I'm good to go...

well I've tried all the simple stuff so far: take out controller from center dash, clean contacts and apply stabilant, clean and stabilant ground pins behind left vent, check hiden fuse. Nothing. Next things on the list are to replace a controller circuit #1 that is in the diagram or see if the motor needs rebuilding. That will require taking out most of the lining from the trunk which is harder since there is an amp and CD changer that was bolted to the thing. If it is the controller, that means I need to buy a $350 part, but if it isn't I'm stuck with that part. Whatever the case I'm looking at hours of work, or $$$ if I punt and take it to the mechanic. Or both ;)

So I'd rather just drive it for now and I pulled out the fuse. :) :)

Speaking of fuses, have you checked the hidden fuse that is located under the trunk liner on the passenger side? You may also want to have a look at the condition of the entire fuse box located in the passenger foot well.

yes that is the one I've taken it to make it stop. Fuse looks in good condition, if I take it out, it stops working. Fuse box looks in OK condition, I can't see anything wrong....

    Eric -

I'll make you a zillion dollar deal.

I'll send you a remanufactured HVAC controller, and you send your wacko one back to me. If that fixes it, you're in hog heaven. If your car explodes, you never heard of me.

I just wanted to follow-up on this, I've been insanely busy and not much time for Fchat, but Daniel did send me a unit and it worked!!!! All my AC issues/gremlins are gone!!!! I can't thank daniel enough for his generosity, I don't know exactly why I deserved it, but seriously, Daniel and Ricambi are the BEST thing that ever happened to ferrari owners, we are truly fortunate to have them.

On a technical note, I found it interesting that my unit was quite a bit different then the one daniel sent me. Mine had a white back instead of black, connector was in a slightly different place and the clock setting switches are different on the front bezel. Also, the layout of the electronic boards looked different from the vent holes, but I was not stupid enough to open Daniel's remanufactured unit :D

So it seems like later cars had an update AC controller compared to my early '90 model

    Daniel, again THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

    VERY cool!! :):)

    Daniel ROCKS!! :D:D

Check this out for a crazy story.....

Last week, my a/c control unit stopped working. I thought it was the hidden fuse....again, so I looked there 1st.

Nope, the fuse was ok. Fair enough I thought, I will investigate the problem when I was on days off again.

Come next days off, I jump in the car to take my friend for a drive the a/c unit was working again.

BUT........, the tempreture now reads in Fahrenheit!!:eek:

    WHAT THE F*CK!! :D:D

I hate to tell you you might have the same issue I had. Mine just went from flaky to weirder and weirder to dead. Took about a year

Pap - There is a jumper inside the unit which has probably slid off its connection pins. It converts from F to C. If you remove the unit and shake it, I'll bet you hear it rattling around inside.
