    Great,

It would be so good to see this engine back in it's chassis.

It appears to be in need of a crank first, though.

Does the engine owner know the whereabouts of the original body?

    Mr. Roland,

Do you have the other pages of the build sheets ?

I have seen title page in Prancing Horse and the first page in your earlier post, do you have the rest?

Please share them with the group, even if data may not be directly relevant to the body type . coupe/spyder

Do you have the engines dyno sheet, also?

    Thank you in advance

Tom, this can't be in your shop, unless you have one of those epiphany things or whatever. It is way too organized. :)

This is such a good read.
I just read the full thread and it looks like a fun, and amazing project.

See photos in the book "Ferrari by Vignale", published 1993 by Giorgio Nada Editore in Italy, page 113.

After seeing this post I got a copy of the the Masten Gregory book (which is good, even thought the style isn't to my taste).
Gregory's coupe was tested by Road & Track (Sept 1953). Car believed to have been placed fifth overall at Le Mans in 52, Simon/Vincent. According to Godfrey Eaton (1986) 'The type is not positively identified but would appear to be a 340 America with a 'hotter' engine installed. A limit of 6000 rpm was used for the tests.
According to Cox Gregory did call it 'the worst car I ever owned' but this seems to be because it was knackered when he bought it, not because of inherent design faults. 'I was so anxious to buy the car... that I made the big mistake of paying $11,500 cash for it. Ended up dumping it for $4,500. I was pretty irritated by myself'.
'It had burned valves, a shot front end, and a worn transmission when he bought it' (Cox)
I don't know where the author got his info (book published 2004).
Also 'According to the late Boris Said, Masten displayed his discontent for the Ferrari by using it to haul his C-type Jaguar to one of the races later on in the year, which he said really ticked off Luigi Chinetti' (Cox).
I hope you're refitting the tow bar, Tom...

Is there general agreement now that this is 0202?

    Mr Roland (Prunet):

Exactly 4 people have asked you for additional information (the balance of 0202A build sheets specifically) and opinions on pictures.

LeMans Records, Ferrari factory documents, multiple Ferrari Historians and Ferrari Classiche's Roberto Vaglietti all state 0202/A was a spyder. I additionally have seen a different front cover sheet for 0202/A, with NO hand writing on it referring to Devin USA.

You have decided to stir up the pot and NOW hide. Apparently because your lack data on your hypothesis.

I am unsure of your intent, but please play your game somewhere else, unless you choose to engage in a professional, academic discussion with supporting documentation.

I am very open minded. Little weight can be given to a person that has initiated a theory, then discontinues communicating to support his/hers position.

    Thank you

Question: Has the factory been less forthcoming with information and access to archives since the inception of the Classiche programme?

extremely limited access to factory records started way before Classiche. Access before about 1987 was inconsistently allowed or policed, but, in our experience, the vault doors really slammed shut around 87.
