    What was the subscription service they had in the 80's, where movies were transmitted at midnight through wasted bandwidth on regular channels? You needed a decoder and that new invention the VCR to record it... Was that On-TV or something?

    If you played with the tv dial just so, you could kind of make out fuzzy porn at midnight... ;)

    How about picking up the phone handset and hearing ''number please''[ locally it would be a 3 digit number] and the operator knowing who you were and who you were calling[my 'Papa' was the SouthernBell supervisor so I spent Saturday running around the switchboard room where they pulled those plugs in and out of boards the livelong day]. He was proud of the day they switched over to dial tone self dialing with an area code and a prefix number which had a code name like Hemlock7[instead of HE7 for 437-****]
    I remember Harry Truman on TV announcing the ''end of the war'' in Korea...huh.

    LOL. I remember that one, it was on chanel 65 out here and the box was needed. But yes, you play with antenna and see some porn through a snowy picture !!!! LOL, the memories !!
