i'd call the BS police on the scud spider. however, if ferrari really does it than i'd call the BS SWAT team. you market it as the ultimate ferrari track car and then throw a wobbly chassis at the market. my guess....it's not gonna happen.
DM18, do you know when they plan to unveil it? Also will they build 300? 500? My cousin just put a deposit on one.
500. No more than 150 out of the 500 will be RHD. Not sure about the unveiling. Know I will get my car before the first California gets to Hong Kong. The car will be absolutely killer. Your cousin will be super happy
for the sake of ferrari not ridiculing themselves i really hope they will not. if it happens they better make sure to call it 430 Poseuria.

Have you heard a scud? I would cut the top off so I could get unobstructed sound the thing is sweet. The engine note is my ringtone
IMO, there should not have been a convertible Scuderia. The Scuderia is almost a track car with a stripped interior, 4 point harness, racing seats,...etc.........this does not suit a Spider.
You are not alone in that view. Simple question for you my friend. Someone has a Scuderia and they have a 430 Spider because they like Spiders. Could you imagine driving a 430 Spider after a Scuderia? Slow shifting, primitive traction control and suspension, lots of body roll, less inspiring exhaust note... 430 Spider is a fantastic car until you have a Scuderia. Then a 430 Spider immediately becomes soft and dated. Scuderia is a road car. Road cars and track cars are very different. Anyone that is in a position to get a Scuderia Spider (narrow niche market, not cheap, limited allocation...) almost certainly has a real track car if they are at all interested in the track.
Lambo makes the pl640 in spider why not the scuderia...in question of market place. promplty we will have a pic with of one Scuderia in front a discotheque!
the big difference is lambo does not market the lp640 as a track weapon. it's a sports or supoercar full stop. however, ferrari makets the scud as a track weapon with a different suspension geometry and setup and this does not go hand in hand with a softer chassis. no matter what they do, it will not have the stiffness of the coupe. the platform was designed as a coupe. just as if porsche would throw a GT3RS convertible on the market. surely there would be buyers but the whole concept contradicts itself. i agree if they would do a hyped up 430 spider. limited edition with more hp etc and market it as the ultimate boulevard cruiser. with the suspenion of the scud, the chassis will go soft in no time and you will have craking noises throughout the whole car. therefore, they might make the suspenion softer than the coupe scud and we are back to square 1.... i still think ferrari is wiser than that and don't see a scuderia spider happening.
I agree most of the thing you say, except that line. Yes, Ferrari is wise, but they are using their brain capacity to earn more money and sell more cars, not, sadly, to satisfy enthusiasts. For the ones who do not like their lineup they have started "atelier", that is solely saying "we don't care what people think about our cars, as long as we reach a bigger market, if you don't like it pay more and make us build a custom one for you" If you say your car is GT2/GT3/Gallardo SL rival, you should think twice about softening it with a tent. And i do not agree the ones comparing Murci with Scuderia, murci is like a GT next to scud (ok, lets say 599 "challenge" rival), and its not a real spider its a targa top (well, kinda ). Can you compare a veyron spider (soon) with a scud spider (hopefully not) just because they both are fast cars even in their category..? So, what is a Scuderia Spider, a Caterham R500/Ariel Atom competitor??? ps: Finally, Porsche bought more than 31% of VW shares and are in control now, so maybe we will start to see some souped up Golfs, what do you know, maybe Ferrari makes a hatchback to enter that market too...
I would love to see a Photoshop of a Scud spider with a chopped windshield like the old Porsche 356's. These are photos from one of the mentioned websites in this thread, gotta admit the car looks incredible: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
intouch1, I agree 100% with you (though the 430 Scuderia Spider is DEFENITELY coming...) I don't have any issue with the Scuderia Spider, if I had the money I would buy one. For those trying to say that it makes sense to take Ferrari's most refined, lightweight track focused car and turn it into a Spider is like saying it makes sense for Porsche to come out with a GT3 RS Cabriolet!
