Im a fan of the folksy stuff more than the straight ahead bluesy rock stuff. My choice is Over The Hills And Far Away. One of the greatest riffs of all time and builds to a perfect climax. Always cheers me up when I hear this song. Cast your vote and explain why you picked it.
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You Ten Years Gone Tea for One Thank You Tangerine In My Time of Dying Since I've Been Loving You Your Time is Gonna Come The Rain Song In the Light In the Evening I Can't Quit You baby (Coda version) Nobody's Fault but Mine Sorry...no way I can pick just one BTW - even though there are folks who say they never want to hear Stairway again, I never get sick of it...that solo! If I had to choose two from my list, they would be Ten Years Gone for the guitar and the vibe and Since I've Been Loving You for the sqeaking pedal, Jimmy going nuts and Robert's final "scream".
I voted for Stairway.....I LOVE that song and it will forever be a classic! They have a lot of great songs!!
Awesome song no doubt. Little Robert Anthony wants to come and play Why don'tcha come with me, baby, steal away
That's the problem with a band the stature of the Mighty Zep. A poll would have to include their entire catalogue of songs (except The Crunge and Hats off (to) Roy Harper )
If your poll had How many more times that would get my vote. I picked Dazed and Confused because that some made an impact on me when I saw them in concert in the mid 70's. Almost anything off LZ 1 is a winner. I appreciate the stuff off the first album more today than I did back in the day.
Voted stairway; I consider it that greatest song of all time. In the evening, No Quarter, Ramble on, and The battle of evermore are great too!
MY FIRST CHOICE TOO THE LEMON SONG...GREAT BASS BY ...JPJ BLACK DOG ROCK N ROLL THE OCEAN THE LISTS GOES ON AND ON.................
Achilles Last Stand is by far the best Zeppelin song ever and I think Presence is there best album, I am surprised that Tea for One or Poor Tom isn't on there? Achilles Last Stand is full of layers and layers of guitar work that has never been imitated or copied to this day and never will. I still think Jimmy Page is the greatest guitar player that ever lived, forget all of the Alister Crowley and satanic crap that people say about him and the band, they were 4 guys that loved music and loved to get out and play music that they loved. They didn't care if anyone else loved it, but it turned out that a few 100 million ended up loving there music just as much as they did. Stairway to Heaven is a great song, but after you have heard it 50,000 times on the radio, it sorta looses the magic that it had the first time you heard it. Dazed and Confused is great, both on the 1st album and live. God I could go on and on about Zeppelin, they are the best band in the world!
